Efficient end-to-end simulation of time-dependent coherent X-ray scattering experiments

open access: yesJournal of Synchrotron Radiation
Physical optics simulations for beamlines and experiments allow users to test experiment feasibility and optimize beamline settings ahead of beam time in order to optimize valuable beam time at synchrotron light sources like NSLS-II.

Blood Biomarkers and Surface‐Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy for Gout: A Comprehensive Review

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Schematic illustrating gout disease progression from asymptomatic hyperuricemia to chronic tophaceous disease, highlighting the limitations of conventional imaging and biochemical diagnostics and the potential of engineered SERS platforms for ultrasensitive blood‐based detection of urate‐related biomarkers across disease stages, with the color gradient

Partially coherent x-ray beam simulations: mirrors and more

open access: yes, 2011
Penetration, micro-resolution, and scattering were the keywords of x-ray analyses in the 20th century. Over the last 15 years, a great class of coherent imaging techniques has emerged as new tools, allowing for low-dose imaging of biological specimen on ...

Solution‐Processed Thin‐Film Transistors With Tunable Temporal Dynamics for Neuromorphic Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Solution‐processed CNT and CNT/P3HT ion‐gated transistors exhibit materials‐defined synaptic timescales: fast CNT devices for high‐frequency spiking and slow hybrid devices for temporal integration. Embedding these dynamics into coupled reservoir‐computing and spiking neural network simulations reveals that a Hybrid‐Reservoir / CNT‐SNN architecture ...

Free-Space Optical Communication Systems with a Partially Coherent Gaussian Beam and Media Diversity

open access: yes
Terrestrial free-space optical (FSO) communications is an emerging low-license-free and high-bandwidth access solution, albeit hampered by the combined effects from atmospheric loss, turbulence and pointing errors (PEs).

Ultrasmall High‐Entropy Materials: Nanoscale Effects, Synthesis, and Mechanistic Insights

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review article focuses on sub‐10 nm high‐entropy materials that combine nanoscale design with complex compositions for next‐generation applications. ABSTRACT Ultrasmall high‐entropy nanomaterials (USHENMs, <10 nm) merge multicomponent chemistry with size‐dependent effects, forming a distinct class of materials with unprecedented properties.

Beam Spreading of Partially Coherent Beams Propagating through Turbulence Atmospheric in Boundary Layer

open access: yes, 2011
The cross-spectral density function of the partially coherent beam on 1.06μm is extended based on the generalized Huygens-Fresnel principle by using the Gaussian Schell-mode(GSM) and the modified Frehlich spectrum. And on the analysis of variation of the

Dye‐Initiated Chirped Cholesteric Polymer Networks Exhibiting Broadband Dissipative Chiral Photonic Bands

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A dye‐based photoinitiator acting as a structure‐directing element, guides the formation of a cholesteric polymer network that behaves as a chirped photonic structure with dissipative chiral coupling. Photopolymerization freezes a depth‐dependent helical pitch, broadening the Bragg resonance spectrum.

Controlled Engineering of 2D Alkali‐Iron‐Chloride Compounds and Lateral Quantum Heterostructures Within Confined Graphene Nanoreactors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents a programmable atomic engineering strategy for 2D materials using Å‐scale nanoreactors formed by bilayer graphene (BLG) intercalation. A new class of alkali‐iron‐chloride compounds, along with lateral heterostructures composed of monolayer alkali halides and iron chlorides, is revealed.

Propagation of some coherent and partially coherent laser beams

open access: yes, 2006
In this thesis, we investigate the propagation of some coherent and partially coherent laser beams, including a dark hollow beam (DHB), an elliptical Gaussian beam (EGB), a flat-topped beam and a twisted anisotropic Gaussian Schell-model (TAGSM) beam ...
