Self-steering partially coherent beams
AbstractWe introduce a class of shape-invariant partially coherent beams with a moving guiding center which we term self-steering partially coherent beams. The guiding center of each such beam evolves along a straight line trajectory which can be engineered to make any angle with the x-axis.

In this paper, we present a method to independently control the field and irradiance statistics of a partially coherent beam. Prior techniques focus on generating optical field realizations whose ensemble-averaged autocorrelation matches a specified ...

Wigner transform approach to dynamic-variable partially coherent laser beam characterization [PDF]
1) Background: the modeling, characterization, transformation and propagation of high-power CW laser beams in optical (including fiberoptic) trains and in the atmosphere have become hot topics in laser science and engineering in the past few years ...

When analyzing the transmission characteristics of LEDs for long-distance lighting and communication applications, the light field is commonly assumed to be fully incoherent. However, in reality, the LED light source emits partially coherent light with a

Partially Coherent Flat-Topped Beam Generated by an Axicon
The intensity distribution of a partially coherent beam with a nonconventional correlation function, named the multi-Gaussian Schell-model (MGSM) beam, focused by an axicon was investigated in detail.

Compact representations of partially coherent undulator radiation suitable for wave propagation
Undulator radiation is partially coherent in the transverse plane, with the degree of coherence depending on the ratio of the electron beam phase space area (emittance) to the characteristic radiation wavelength λ. On the other hand, numerical codes used

Partially coherent fractional vortex beam
We introduce a new kind of partially coherent vortex (PCV) beam with fractional topological charge named partially coherent fractional vortex (PCFV) beam and derive the propagation formula for such beam passing through a stigmatic ABCD optical system with the help of the convolution method.

Coupling Efficiency of a Partially Coherent Radially Polarized Vortex Beam into a Single-Mode Fiber
We study the problem of coupling partially coherent radially polarized (PCRP) vortex beams into a single-mode optical fiber. Using the well-known concept of the cross-spectral density (CSD) matrix, we derive a general expression for the coupling ...
