On the existence and uniqueness of a positive solution to a boundary-value problem of the Sturm-Liouville type for a nonlinear ordinary differential equation

open access: yesСовременная математика: Фундаментальные направления, 2023
Using the fixed point theorem in partially ordered sets, we obtain sufficient conditions for the existence of a unique positive solution to a boundary-value problem of the Sturm-Liouville type for a nonlinear ordinary differential equation, and give an ...

Majorization on a Partially Ordered Set [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 1979
We extend the classical concept of set majorization to the case where the set is partially ordered. We give a useful property which characterizes majorization on a partially ordered set. Quite unexpectedly, the proof of this property relies on a theorem of Shapley on convex games.

Choice Overload and Height Ranking of Menus in Partially-Ordered Sets

open access: yesEntropy, 2015
When agents face incomplete information and their knowledge about the objects of choice is vague and imprecise, they tend to consider fewer choices and to process a smaller portion of the available information regarding their choices.

On a criterion of the finiteness of the representation type for families of the categories of injective representations

open access: yesНауковий вісник Ужгородського університету. Серія: Математика і інформатика, 2022
The representations of posets (partially ordered sets), introduced by L. A. Nazarova and A. V. Roiter in 1972, play an important role in the modern representation theory and its applications. M. M.

Between quantum logic and concurrency [PDF]

open access: yesElectronic Proceedings in Theoretical Computer Science, 2014
We start from two closure operators defined on the elements of a special kind of partially ordered sets, called causal nets. Causal nets are used to model histories of concurrent processes, recording occurrences of local states and of events. If every

Polychrony as Chinampas

open access: yesAlgorithms, 2023
In this paper, we study the flow of signals through linear paths with the nonlinear condition that a node emits a signal when it receives external stimuli or when two incoming signals from other nodes arrive coincidentally with a combined amplitude above

Existence and Uniqueness of Positive and Nondecreasing Solutions for a Class of Singular Fractional Boundary Value Problems

open access: yesBoundary Value Problems, 2009
We establish the existence and uniqueness of a positive and nondecreasing solution to a singular boundary value problem of a class of nonlinear fractional differential equation. Our analysis relies on a fixed point theorem in partially ordered sets.

Partially Ordered Sets in Socio-Economic Data Analysis

open access: yesEncyclopedia
A partially ordered set (or a poset, for short) is a set endowed with a partial order relation, i.e., with a reflexive, anti-symmetric, and transitive binary relation.

Witt rings of quadratically presentable fields [PDF]

open access: yesCategories and General Algebraic Structures with Applications, 2020
This paper introduces an approach to the axiomatic theory of quadratic forms based on {tmem{presentable}} partially ordered sets, that is partially ordered sets subject to additional conditions which amount to a strong form of local presentability.

Cup‐Like Nuclei Is a Hallmark of DUX4/ERG Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and Reveals Cytoplasmic Mitochondria Accumulation

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Cup‐like nuclei are a distinctive morphological feature observed in certain cases of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). We provide evidence that they characterize DUX4/ERG ALL independently of IKZF1 deletion and reveal marked mitochondrial accumulation in this ALL subset.
