Interbank Competition in the Russian banking Market

open access: yesФинансы: теория и практика, 2021
The stable development of the banking sector is closely related to interbank competition. The subject of the research is the improvement of interbank competition, which contributes to improving service quality standards, reducing costs and prices ...

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

The Effect of Inflation on Fund Supply of Participation Banks: An Application to Türkiye with ARDL Approach

open access: yesCumhuriyet Üniversitesi İktisadi ve İdari Bilimler Dergisi
The primary economic variable that threatens price stability is inflation. Since inflation directly affects the quality of life standards of every individual living in a country, it is one of the most important problems for economies.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

An Analysis of the Relationship between Interest-Free Financing of Agricultural Production and Agricultural Growth Using Contemporary Econometric Methods

open access: yesKocatepe İslami İlimler Dergisi
Participation banks, operating on the principle of interest-free banking in the Turkish banking sector, have increasingly specialized in agricultural banking.

Partisipasi Petani Dalam Pengelolaan Sampah Plastik Melalui Bank Sampah di Kota Padang

open access: yesJurnal Antropologi: Isu-Isu Sosial Budaya, 2023
One of the current environmental problems is plastic waste. One of the efforts to manage plastic waste in the community is through waste bank activities.

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

An unexpected alternative viologen electron mediator site in tungsten‐containing formate dehydrogenase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...
