Pabulib: A Participatory Budgeting Library

open access: yesCoRR, 2020
We describe the PArticipatory BUdgeting LIBrary website (in short, Pabulib), which can be accessed via http://pabulib.org/, and which is a library of participatory budgeting data. In particular, we describe the file format (.pb) that is used for instances of participatory budgeting.

DigiChrom: A Domain Ontology for Semantic Representation of Trivalent Chromium Platings and Its Large Language Model‐Based Alignment With Multiple Mid‐Level Ontologies

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Digitalizing electroplating requires both domain knowledge and interoperability. This work introduces PlatOn, a domain ontology for trivalent chromium plating and coating characterization, and a hybrid pipeline that aligns it to a mid‐level reference ontology by combining eight similarity metrics with language model reasoning. Expert‐validated mappings

Configurations of Digital Participatory Budgeting

open access: yesACM Transactions on Computer-Human Interaction
Participatory budgeting is a democratic innovation increasingly supported by digital platforms. Like any technology, participatory budgeting platforms are not value-free or politically neutral; their design, configuration, and deployment display assumptions and configure participant behaviour.

Mimicking Silent Synapse Recruitment: A SiOx/Cu‐Pancake Memristive Device For Analog Neuromorphic Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Electroforming‐free TiN/SiOx/Cu/SiOx/TiN memristive devices exploit pancake‐like Cu nanoparticles embedded in a SiOx double layer to create a heterogeneous Schottky‐barrier landscape. Under bias, oxygen‐vacancy redistribution progressively lowers local barriers and recruits initially inactive Cu‐PC pathways into a parallel conduction ensemble, enabling

Participatory Budgeting: Models and Approaches [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Participatory budgeting is a democratic approach to deciding the funding of public projects, which has been adopted in many cities across the world. We present a survey of research on participatory budgeting emerging from the computational social choice literature, which draws ideas from computer science and microeconomic theory.

Coordinating Monetary Contributions in Participatory Budgeting

open access: yesAutonomous Agents and Multi-Agent Systems, 2023
Abstract We formalize a framework for coordinating funding and selecting projects, the costs of which are shared among agents with quasi-linear utility functions and individual budgets. Our model contains the discrete participatory budgeting model as a special case, while capturing other useful scenarios.

Simultaneous Enhancement of Performance and Stability in Dual‐Gate a‐IGZO Thin‐Film Transistors via Single‐Step Laser Annealing for Capacitor‐Less DRAM

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A single‐step laser annealing strategy is presented for dual‐gate a‐IGZO TFTs. The steep thermal gradient induces graded oxygen doping in the channel and simultaneous WOx removal at the contacts, enabling concurrent interface and contact engineering.

Participatory Budget and the Sars-Cov-2 Pandemic in Poland

open access: yesTransylvanian Review of Administrative Sciences, 2020
The SARS-CoV-2 pandemic has affected almost every aspect of social life. Public authorities are trying to combat the effects of the pandemic by introducing specific legal regulations.

Participatory Budgeting: Data, Tools and Analysis

open access: yesProceedings of the Thirty-Second International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence, 2023
We provide a library of participatory budgeting data (Pabulib) and open source tools (Pabutools and Pabustats) for analysing this data. We analyse how the results of participatory budgeting elections would change if a different selection rule was applied.

A State‐Adaptive Koopman Control Framework for Real‐Time Deformable Tool Manipulation in Robotic Environmental Swabbing

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This work presents a state‐adaptive Koopman linear quadratic regulator framework for real‐time manipulation of a deformable swab tool in robotic environmental sampling. By combining Koopman linearization, tactile sensing, and centroid‐based force regulation, the system maintains stable contact forces and high coverage across flat and inclined surfaces.
