3D‐Printed Gradient Shape‐Memory Strain Sensors With Rewritable Gauge Factors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A 3D‐printed shape‐memory strain sensor combines thermomechanical programming with gradient architectural design. Preset strain rewrites the gauge factor (GF), while the gradient geometry amplifies the response through strain redistribution. Reprogrammable sensitivity enables the same sensor to detect weak pulse signals and monitor large‐amplitude ...

"Stars in the Arena?" Democracy Theory and its Implications for Participatory Research

open access: yesForum: Qualitative Social Research, 2012
Participatory methods aim to democratize and critique societies. However, their understanding of democracy has never been questioned. It is crucial to undertake such an analysis in order to fullyrecognize the critical potential of research  employing a ...

Reaction‐Time pH Stabilization by Poly(acrylic acid) with Ethanol‐Mediated Growth Control for Efficient Hydrothermal Sb2(S,Se)3 Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Poly(acrylic acid) acts as a reaction‐time pH buffer during hydrothermal Sb2(S,Se)3 growth through its COOH/COO‐ equilibrium. When combined with ethanol‐regulated growth, this buffering strategy reduces Sb‐O related surface disorder, improves local electronic uniformity and carrier collection, and increases the champion solar‐cell efficiency to 10.25%,

Magneto‐Ionic Devices With Polymer‐Based Electrolytes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Polymer electrolytes are introduced for magneto‐ionic devices based on hydroxide and hydrogen ions. The magneto‐ionic effect results in a pronounced voltage‐controlled variation of coercivity in both devices. The switching speed is in the range of 100 ms.

Challenges to Democracy and the Opportunity of a New Participatory Governance in the era of trans-local societies

open access: yesH-ermes: Journal of Communication, 2014
The aim of this paper is to propose a theoretical reflection on the possible transformations of democracy in globalized societies. In this direction, the Author outlines the classical approaches to the analysis of democracy and then proposes a criticism ...

Oxygen Evolution Electrocatalysts with Trinuclear, Mixed‐Valence Iron Motifs on Electronically Aligned Carbon Dots

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Trinuclear iron oxo‐bridged catalytic ensembles stabilized by aspartic‐acid‐derived carbon dots provide an effective platform for alkaline oxygen evolution. Mixed‐valence charge balancing, inner‐sphere charge transport, and work‐function alignment within the N/O‐rich carbon framework promote cooperative Fe‐site chemistry and efficient OER ...

Self‐Healing Hydrogel‐Enabled Modular Assembly of Bilayered Skin Construct for Hair Follicle Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Self‐healing assembly of two cell‐laden hydrogel layers creates a biomimetic skin construct that restores both dermal and epidermal functions, resulting in accelerated wound healing and enhanced hair follicle regeneration in a full‐thickness skin wound model. ABSTRACT Alopecia remains a pervasive clinical challenge, largely owing to the limited ability

NeuroVisio SyncPatch: A Skin‐Conformal Multimodal EMG–Motion Sensing Platform for Quantitative Neuromuscular Rehabilitation and Performance Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
NeuroVisio SyncPatch integrates skin‐conformal electromyography (EMG) electrodes with camera‐tracked markers to jointly assess muscle activity and three‐dimensional knee kinematics during rehabilitation. Parallel feedback pathways provide real‐time kinematic guidance during movement and post‐trial neuromuscular feedback.
