Particle-particle and particle-antiparticle interactions

Nuclear Physics, 1964
Abstract A general method for the derivation of the particle-particle and particle-antiparticle interaction operators by methods of field theory is given, and it is applied to the electromagnetic electron-electron and electron-positon interactions as well as to the pionic proton-proton and proton-antiproton interactions.

Particle flow auxiliary particle filter

2015 IEEE 6th International Workshop on Computational Advances in Multi-Sensor Adaptive Processing (CAMSAP), 2015
Particle flow filters have been recently developed as an alternative approach for nonlinear filtering. The particles approximating the prior are migrated using differential equations to be distributed according to the posterior. Computationally tractable exact solutions only exist for linear Gaussian models.

Gas-to-particle and particle-to-particle heat transfer in fluidized beds of large particles

Chemical Engineering Science, 1985
Abstract Gas-to-particle and interparticle transfer rates were measured, at room temperature, for three different materials, in the range 1 ≤ U / U mf ≤ 3.5 and 0.900 ≤ d p ≤ 2.250 mm by means of batch runs in which wet capillary-porous particles were dried in fluidized beds of similar dry ones.

Individualism of particles in particle swarm optimization

Applied Soft Computing, 2019
Abstract The particle swarm optimization (PSO) method is an effective, nature-inspired, computational algorithm for optimization problems. However, the influence of individuals’ cultural orientations is neglected in particle swarms. Individualist and collectivist orientations have an important influence on optimization.

Effect of particle wettability on particle-particle adhesion of colliding particles through droplet

Powder Technology, 2016
In wet granulation processes, a liquid bridge formed between particles is not static but dynamic due to continuous motion of the particles. Therefore, understanding of the particle-particle adhesion by a dynamic liquid bridge is an important issue. We here conducted a direct numerical simulation of the particle-particle adhesion by a dynamic liquid ...

Particle-particle interaction

2012
Particle-particle interaction is central to a wide range of engineering applications and processing industries. Examples include coagulation, flocculation, dispersion, emulsification, and froth flotation. In these applications, the paricle size is small, and the overall particulate behavior is determined by forces associated with the surface properties

Comparison of intracytoplasmic A particles and intracisternal A particles

International Journal of Cancer, 1975
AbstractIntracytoplasmic A particles and intracisternal A particles are associated with mouse tumors of various types, and both can coexist in the cytoplasm of the same cell. The designation of both as A particles is based on the recognition that they share morphological similarities.

Particle Swarm Optimization with Opposite Particles

2005
The particle swarm optimization algorithm is a kind of intelligent optimization algorithm. This algorithm is prone to be fettered by the local optimization solution when the particle's velocity is small. This paper presents a novel particle swarm optimization algorithm named particle swarm optimization with opposite particles which is guaranteed to ...
