Particle Accelerators and Particle Detection [PDF]
The possibility of investigating the subatomic world is related to the con- struction of increasing larger and more sophisticated accelerators. Here, the energy available in a collision is converted into mass (= new exotic particles) according to the Einstein equation E=mc 2.

Particle Acceleration in Mercury’s Magnetosphere [PDF]
This paper is devoted to the problem of particle acceleration in the closest to the Sun Hermean magnetosphere. We discuss few available observations of energetic particles in Mercury environment made by Mariner-10 in 1974-1975 during Mercury flyby's and by Helios in 1979 upstream of the Hermean bow shock.

This chapter presents the physics behind a variety of particle accelerators, which are used in nuclear physics research and other applications. A brief review of the effects of electric and magnetic fields on charged particles is provided. Early approaches were the high-voltage machines such as the Van de Graaff electrostatic generator and the Cockroft-

IEEE transactions on applied superconductivity, 2018
Superconducting coils limit current is usually measured on unloaded short samples of strands extracted from the same cable used to wound the coil. However, the critical current density of Nb $_{3}$Sn strands is strongly dependent on the applied strain ...

Particle Accelerators in China
Reviews of Accelerator Science and Technology, 2016As the special machines that can accelerate charged particle beams to high energy by using electromagnetic fields, particle accelerators have been widely applied in scientific research and various areas of society. The development of particle accelerators in China started in the early 1950s.
