Probing Planckian physics: resonant production of particles during inflation and features in the primordial power spectrum [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 1999
The phenomenon of resonant production of particles {\it after} inflation has received much attention in the past few years. In a new application of resonant production of particles, we consider the effect of a resonance {\em during} inflation.

Search for heavy resonances decaying to ZZ or ZW and axion-like particles mediating nonresonant ZZ or ZH production at $$ \sqrt{s} $$ = 13 TeV [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2022
Abstract A search has been performed for heavy resonances decaying to ZZ or ZW and for axion-like particles (ALPs) mediating nonresonant ZZ or ZH production, in final states with two charged leptons (ℓ = e, μ) produced by the decay of a Z boson, and two quarks produced by the decay of a Z, W, or Higgs boson H.

Measurement of the inclusive production of neutral pions and charged particles on the Z0 resonance [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 1991
Abstract We present a study of the inclusive production of neutral pions and charged particles from 112 000 hadronic Z 0 decays. The measured inclusive momentum distributions can be reproduced by parton shower Monte Carlo programs and also by an analytical QCD calculation.

Hadronic resonances, strange and multi-strange particle production in Xe-Xe and Pb-Pb collisions with ALICE at the LHC [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Physics A, 2019
We present measurements of hadronic resonance, strange and multi-strange particle production in collisions of Xe-Xe and Pb-Pb at the center-of-mass energies of root s(NN) = 5.44 and 5.02 TeV, respectively, by the ALICE collaboration at the LHC. Particle ratios are presented as a function of multiplicity for K-s(0), Lambda, Xi(-), (Xi) over bar ...

Simultaneous isotopic analysis of fission product Sr, Mo, and Ru in spent nuclear fuel particles by resonance ionization mass spectrometry

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
AbstractFission product Sr, Mo, and Ru isotopes in six 10-μm particles of spent fuel from a pressurized water reactor were analyzed by resonance ionization mass spectrometry (RIMS) and evaluated for utility in nuclear material characterization. Previous measurements on these same samples showed widely varying U, Pu, and Am isotopic compositions owing ...

The production of high-momentum particles and resonances in pp collisions at the CERN intersecting storage rings [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 1983
Data are reported on the momentum distributions of Λ, Λ (1520), φ (1020), Λ and p, inclusively produced between 1° and 2° with respect to one of the primary proton beams at the CERN Intersecting Storage Rings. In addition, the decay angular distribution of the Λ(1520), the ratio of the cross sections for the production of Σ− (1385) and Σ+ (1385) and ...

Constraints on resonant particle production during inflation from the matter and CMB power spectra

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 2004
We analyze the limits on resonant particle production during inflation based upon the power spectrum of fluctuations in matter and the cosmic microwave background. We show that such a model is consistent with features observed in the matter power spectrum deduced from galaxy surveys and damped Lyman-alpha systems at high redshift.

Analyzing Subvisible Particles in Protein Drug Products: a Comparison of Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) and Resonant Mass Measurement (RMM) [PDF]

open access: yesThe AAPS Journal, 2014
Aggregation is common in protein drug manufacture, and while the effects of protein particulates are under investigation, many techniques applicable for their characterization have been recently developed. Among the methods available to characterize and quantify protein aggregates, none is applicable over the full size range and different methods often

Determination of the strong coupling constant α S(mZ) from measurements of inclusive W ± and Z boson production cross sections in proton-proton collisions at s $$ \sqrt{\mathrm{s}} $$ = 7 and 8 TeV

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2020
Twelve measurements of inclusive cross sections of W ± and Z boson production, performed in proton-proton collisions at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV, are compared with perturbative quantum chromodynamics calculations at next-to-next- to-leading
