Contribution of particulate nitrate to airborne measurements of total reactive nitrogen [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Simultaneous measurements of speciated, total reactive nitrogen (NOy) and particulate NO3 (particle diameter <1.3 μm) were made on board the NASA P-3B aircraft over the western Pacific in February-April 2001 during the Transport and Chemical Evolution

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Comparative Analysis of Properties of Particleboards Made from Corn Cobs at Varying Proportions of Clay Soil

open access: yesNigerian Journal of Technological Development, 2020
Particles of dried corn cobs were employed for manufacture of cement bonded particleboards. Two types of clay soil (red and white) were used as supplement with cement to manufacture cement bonded particleboards.

Constraining the Milky Way Dark Matter Density Profile with Gamma-Rays with Fermi-LAT [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We study the abilities of the Fermi-LAT instrument on board of the Fermi mission to simultaneously constrain the Milky Way dark matter density profile and some dark matter particle properties, as annihilation cross section, mass and branching ratio into ...

Explanation of the embedding strength of particle board [PDF]

open access: yesHolz als Roh- und Werkstoff, 2008
By the earlier derived theory of the embedding strength, based on the equilibrium method of plasticity, it is possible to fully explain the empirical relations and test results of an investigation of the embedding strength of particle boards leading to a new insight for the right design rules.

Pharmacological inhibition of the PERK pathway modulates hepatocellular carcinoma growth and immune signaling

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Pharmacological inhibition of PERK in a DEN‐induced mouse model of liver cancer does not reduce tumor burden but alters cellular stress signaling. Despite blocking PERK activity, downstream stress responses, including CHOP expression, remain active, suggesting compensatory mechanisms within the unfolded protein response that may influence tumor ...

Thermal conductivity and water vapour transmission properties of wood-based materials [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
For several wood-based materials (plywood, OSB, melamine faced board (MFB), particle board and fibre board), the thermal conductivity was determined as afunction of the temperature (ranging between 10 and 30°C) and also the moisture content (from an oven-

High Energy Solar Particle Events and their Associated Coronal Mass Ejections

open access: yes, 2010
Intense solar energetic particle (SEP) events data, associated with ground level enhancements (GLEs), occurred during 1989 to 2006 have been obtained from the spectrometers on board GOES spacecraft in the energy range 10-100 MeV.
