Application of Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans for recovering metals from electronic waste dust [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The paper discusses metal recovery from metallic wastes by means of pure chemical and biological leaching in an acidic medium. The research tested whether it is possible to remove Cu, Al, Sn and Ag from the dust formed during processing of electronic ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Study on preparation of high-performance binderless board from Broussonetia papyrifera

open access: yesJournal of Wood Science, 2023
Binderless particleboards were prepared without any resin adhesives from Broussonetia papyrifera trunk by hot pressing. The effects of particle size, pressing time, pressing temperature and board density on the physical and mechanical properties of ...

Dual targeting of RET and SRC synergizes in RET fusion‐positive cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Despite the strong activity of selective RET tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), resistance of RET fusion‐positive (RET+) lung cancer and thyroid cancer frequently occurs and is mainly driven by RET‐independent bypass mechanisms. Son et al. show that SRC TKIs significantly inhibit PAK and AKT survival signaling and enhance the efficacy of RET TKIs in ...

Pengaruh Pelapisan Akrilik Terhadap Kualitas Papan Partikel Dari Limbah Batang Kelapa Sawit [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
To reduce the waste of oil palm trunks can be done by changing oil palm trunks into particle board. One way to improve the quality of particle board is by doing coating treatment of acrylic.

Monitoring of circulating tumor DNA allows early detection of disease relapse in patients with operable breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Monitoring circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in patients with operable breast cancer can reveal disease relapse earlier than radiology in a subset of patients. The failure to detect ctDNA in some patients with recurrent disease suggests that ctDNA could serve as a supplement to other monitoring approaches.
