The significance of relative density for particle damage in loaded and sheared gravels
For granular assemblages of strong particles, an increase in the relative density usually leads to a significant increase in shear strength, which is evident as a peak strength, accompanied by significant dilation as the peak strength is attained.

From a database of 170 pentagonal 2D materials, 4 candidates exhibiting altermagnetic ordering are screened. Furthermore, the spin‐splitting and unconventional boundary states in the pentagonal 2D altermagnetic monolayer MnS2 are investigated. A MnS2‐based altermagnetic tunneling junction is designed and, through ab initio quantum transport simulations,

Breakage of Anisotropic Rod-Shaped Particles.
In this experimental study, behaviour of dry granular layers of monodisperse cylindrical particles (8x1 mm) under uniaxial compression was studied. The layer compressibility and PSD were evaluated. The effect of several parameters was investigated: piston speed, layer size (diameter and height), applied pressure.
