Flexible lithium‐ion batteries: Materials design, interfacial regulation, and strain‐adaptive device architectures

open access: yesFlexMat, EarlyView.
This review highlights recent advances in flexible lithium‐ion batteries for wearable and deformable electronics. It systematically examines deformable electrodes, mechanically compliant gel and solid‐state electrolytes, and strain‐adaptive cell architectures, alongside an analysis of mechano‐electrochemical coupling under dynamic deformation.

Nanoplastics: Methods, Exposure and Effects on Domestic, Farm and Wild Animals

open access: yesJournal of Applied Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Nanoplastics (NPs) are synthetic polymer particles ranging in size from 1 nm to 1 μm that have been identified as a major concern for ecosystems and organisms due to their plethora of negative effects. The aim of this review is to provide a comprehensive overview of the knowledge relating to exposure and effects of NPs in domestic (i.e., farm ...

Cytotoxic and Genotoxic Effects in Buccal Cells of Sandstone Quarry Workers

open access: yesJournal of Applied Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Mineral extraction poses significant occupational health risks, particularly from respirable crystalline silica exposure. Sandstone quarrying generates substantial dust, yet evidence of its genotoxic effects remains limited. This study investigated cytogenotoxic damage in sandstone quarry workers from southern Brazil using the buccal ...

Optimizing feather hydrolysate via machine learning for microbial recycling of waste concrete fines

open access: yesJournal of Chemical Technology &Biotechnology, EarlyView.
Abstract BACKGROUND The concrete industry faces significant challenges from CO2 emissions and the disposal of waste concrete fines (WCF). Microbially induced calcite precipitation (MICP) can bind WCF into bioconcrete, but the high cost of commercial culture media hinders its application.
