Crystal dissolution by particle detachment. [PDF]
Crystal dissolution, which is a fundamental process in both natural and technological settings, has been predominately viewed as a process of ion-by-ion detachment into a surrounding solvent.

Application of python image analysis tools for particle structure detachment detection in high‑speed videos during model filter regeneration. [PDF]
Combustion-related particulate emissions are a challenge to air quality and regulatory compliance. In modern combustion engines, wall-flow particulate filters effectively capture soot particles, whereby periodic high-temperature (02) regeneration or ...

The inception of pulsed discharges in air: simulations in background fields above and below breakdown [PDF]
We investigate discharge inception in air, in uniform background electric fields above and below the breakdown threshold. We perform 3D particle simulations that include a natural level of background ionization in the form of positive and O$_{2}^-$ ions.

Review of Particle Detachment and Attachment in Porous Media
Particle detachment, migration and attachment are common processes in porous media, especially in unconsolidated formations. In this review, the processes are discussed and equations describing the processes are presented.

Detachment force of particles from fluid droplets [PDF]
Herein we calculate the force–distance curves resulting from the application of a pair of opposite forces to particles located diagonally at the two ends of a fluid droplet.

Particle detachment from fluid interfaces: theory vs. experiments [PDF]
Microparticle adsorption and self-assembly at fluid interfaces are strongly affected by the particle three-phase contact angle θ. On the single-particle level, θ can be determined by several techniques, including colloidal-probe AFM, the gel-trapping technique (GTT) and the freeze-fracture shadow-casting (FreSCa) method.
