The effect of detachment and attachment to a kink motion in the asymmetric simple exclusion process
We study the dynamics of a kink in a one-lane asymmetric simple exclusion process with detachment and attachment of the particle at arbitrary sites. For a system with one site of detachment and attachment we find that the kink is trapped by the site, and

A study of the influence of plasma–molecule interactions on particle balance during detachment
In this work we provide experimental insights into the impact of plasma–molecule interactions on the target ion flux decrease during divertor detachment achieved through a core density ramp in the TCV tokamak. Our improved analysis of the hydrogen Balmer

The LINC01116 long noncoding RNA is induced by hypoxia and associated with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates in two cohorts of lung adenocarcinoma patients. Here, we demonstrate that besides its expression in cancer cells, LINC01116 is markedly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells of the tumor stroma in which it participates in hypoxia ...

Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Origins of filter effluent particles: experimental study of particle deposition and detachment
This paper investigates the relative roles of particle deposition and detachment in controlling the origin of filter effluent particles. A conceptual mathematical model was developed and laboratory-scale experiments were conducted. Laboratory experiments were performed using three sizes of fluorescent microspheres (FMs), to determine the fraction of ...

Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Divertor detachment is crucial for particle and power exhaust in future fusion reactors. The EAST lower tungsten divertor, with its ‘corner slot’ structure, exhibits remarkable geometric closure, and thus enhances neutral trapping.

Thermal fluctuations and nanoscale effects in the nucleation of carbonaceous dust grains
We investigate the role of thermal fluctuations and of the finite number of monomers in small clusters of carbon atoms on the nucleation rate of carbonaceous grains. Thermal fluctuations are due to the quantized nature of the energy exchanges between the
