Monte Carlo modeling of radiation dose from radiation therapy with superficial x‐rays
Abstract Introduction Superficial x‐rays (50–100 kVp) are used for treating non‐melanoma skin cancer and intraoperative radiation therapy (IORT). At these energies, the photoelectric effect significantly increases absorbed dose to bone compared to soft tissue.

An Underlying Asymmetry within Particle-size Segregation [PDF]
We experimentally study particle scale dynamics during segregation of a bidisperse mixture under oscillatory shear. Large and small particles show an underlying asymmetry that is dependent on the local particle concentration, with small particles segregating faster in regions of many large particles and large particles segregating slower in regions of ...

Collisionless particle dynamic in an axi-symmetric diamagnetic trap [PDF]
Particle dynamic in an axi-symmetric mirror machine with an extremely high plasma pressure equal to pressure of vacuum magnetic field (so-called regime of diamagnetic confinement) is investigated. Extrusion of magnetic field from central region due to plasma diamagnetism leads to non-conservation of the magnetic moment and can result in chaotic ...

Abstract Purpose This study evaluates the dosimetric and geometric precision of a virtual cone technique using CBCT‐based polymer gel dosimetry, enabling radiation delivery, and imaging readout within an identical spatial coordinate system. Methods We created a C# script for a virtual cone technique that generates a treatment plan with 10 gantry arcs ...

Bottom-quark effects in Higgs production at intermediate transverse momentum
We provide a precise description of the Higgs boson transverse momentum distribution including top and bottom quark contributions, that is valid for transverse momenta in the range m b ≲ p ⊥ ≲ m t , where m b and m t are the bottom and top quark masses.
