Airborne soil organic particles generated by precipitation [PDF]
Airborne organic particles affect Earth’s climate. Imaging of particles after rain events and experimental irrigation shows that water drop impaction of soils generates solid organic particles, with impacts on clouds and radiation absorption.

Investigation of nucleation and crystal growth kinetics of nickel manganese oxalates [PDF]
The nucleation and the crystal growth rates of mixed nickel manganese oxalates have been determined from the changes of the ionic concentration of the solution and the crystal size distribution during the precipitation process within a supersaturation ...

Indirect determination of the energy spectra of particles precipitated in the lower ionosphere associated with solar proton events [PDF]
Electron density profiles previously measured using the phase and amplitude of VLF radio signals during outstanding solar proton events (SPE), together with the associated energy spectra of protons and electrons simultaneously measured by satellite ...

Oxidation-assisted alkaline precipitation : the effect of H2O2 on the size of CuO and FeOOH nanoparticles [PDF]
H2O2 was demonstrated to narrow the size distribution and decrease the size of CuO and hydrous FeOOH (2-line ferrihydrite) nanoparticles under conditions of high supersaturation.

A CRITICAL REVIEW OF MODELS USED IN NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF ELECTROSTATIC PRECIPITATORS
The electrostatic precipitators (ESP) have been drawing more and more attention due to their high efficiency and low costs. Numerical simulation is a powerful, economical and flexible tool to design ESP for industry applications.

Quantifying wet scavenging processes in aircraft observations of nitric acid and cloud condensation nuclei [PDF]
Wet scavenging is an important sink term for many atmospheric constituents. However, production of precipitation in clouds is poorly understood, and pollutant removal through wet scavenging is difficult to separate from removal through dry scavenging ...

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.
