Particle Size Distributions and Particle Size Alterations in Microemulsions
Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1984Several component diagrams for different alcohols as cosurfactants and potassium oleate as the surfactant were investigated. Between the regions of the water-in-oil microemulsion and the micellar solution (reverse micelles), and diagrams showed a zone of instability which was determined by particle size analysis by means of photon correlation ...

A particle size analyzer using a gas laser as a source of coherent light crossing a sample is described. The particle size distribution is calculated from intensity variations within the diffraction pattern at infinity.

Particle sizes and particle size distributions are of both technical and scientific importance in emulsion polymerization systems On the technical side, particle sizes and particle size distributions are major determinants of a number of properties of a polymer latex, such as its viscoelastic behavior.

Numerische Mathematik, 1999
All particle methods produce large vacuum regions when they are applied, for example, to a free gas flow. This difficulty can be avoided, however, by allowing the particles adapt their size to the local state of the fluid [the author, Numer. Math. 76, No. 1, 87-109 (1997; Zbl 0876.76067)]. This method is described in the present article in detail.

I HAVE recently had occasion to devise a scheme for measuring the mean diameters of the particles of a powder. The method finally evolved has not been discovered during an examination of the available literature, and in view of its simplicity seems to merit description.

Particle Size and Content Uniformity
Pharmaceutical Research, 1990The requirements of the USP Content Uniformity test are translated into physical and mathematical parameters. Assuming spherical particle sizes with a log normal distribution, the mean particle size and particle size distribution required to insure a high probability of passing the content uniformity test are calculated.

Effect of Compaction on Particle Size
Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1975Compressed tablets were prepared on a hydraulic press at several different compaction pressures by a standardized technique, using aspirin, dicalcium phosphate dihydrate, calcium phosphato-carbonate, alumina, and microcrystalline cellulose. All tablets except microcrystalline cellulose contained a cation-exchange resin as disintegrant.

Nitrofurantoin: Particle Size and Dissolution
Drug Development and Industrial Pharmacy, 1999Tablets manufactured from micronized anhydrous nitrofurantoin exhibited unsatisfactory dissolution properties, whereas excellent results were obtained with unmilled drug material having fine particle size.

Particle Size and Size Distribution
2015Abstract Particle size and size distribution have a significant effect on the behavior of metal powders during their processing. This article provides an overview of the sample preparation process for particle size measurement, which is a key step in the measurement of particle size distributions.
