Dynamic cracking properties and generating conditions of coal under rapid gas release

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
Gas release tests revealed that crack initiation and propagation are jointly controlled by initial crack length, residual strength, and gas release velocity. A new outburst risk coefficient was thus developed from a fracture mechanics perspective, offering a novel predictive approach.

Anchoring MoS2 Petal‐Like Nanosheets on Coal‐Based Carbon Nanofibers by Surface Bonding Enable Li+/Na+ Batteries to Achieve Fast‐Charging Capabilities

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
The unique structure connected by CS and COS interfacial bonds accelerates the reaction kinetics of lithium/sodium‐ion storage, while the addition of coal led to an increase in the mechanical strength of the carbon nanofibers, which improved the conductivity and stability of the materials.

Machine Learning‐Driven Classification and Production Capacity Prediction of Tight Sandstone Reservoirs: A Case Study of the Taiyuan Formation, Ordos Basin

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
On the basis of core and log data, a Bayesian‐Optimized Random Forest model achieved 92.76% accuracy in classifying tight sandstone reservoirs. A gray relational analysis‐derived evaluation index shows > 80% consistency with actual gas zones. ABSTRACT Tight sandstone gas (TSG), an unconventional oil–gas resource, has heterogeneous reservoirs ...
