A New Particle Extraction Algorithm for Particle Tracking Velocimetry.
A new method of particle image detection has been implemented and tested for the use in the particle tracking velocimetry. The method benefits from a new algorithm of extracting individual particle images from a massive concentration of particles recorded in the PIV recordings.

Predictions of Particle Trajectory Response to Reynolds Number in Turbulent Channel Flows Using ANNs
A hybrid machine‐learning framework is developed to predict statistical particle trajectories in turbulent channel flows. Trained on direct numerical simulation and Lagrangian particle tracking data, the model is shown to accurately reproduce velocity statistics and concentration profiles while generalizing across Reynolds numbers, offering a reduced ...

Comparison of Acoustic Streaming Flow Patterns Induced by Solid, Liquid and Gas Obstructions
In this study, acoustic streaming flows inside micro-channels induced by three different types of obstruction—gaseous bubble, liquid droplet and solid bulge—are compared and investigated experimentally by particle tracking velocimetry (PTV) and ...

Experimental study on proppant placement in rough fractures with shear slippage in shale reservoirs [PDF]
Under the influence of fracture shear slippage and wall roughness, the fluid flow channels within the fractures are uneven, making the transport and placement patterns of proppant carried by fracturing fluids more complex.
