Ecotoxicological effects of coal fly ash on Daphnia magna: The effect of particulates and leached hazardous trace elements

open access: yesDesalination and Water Treatment
Coal fly ash (CFA) derived from coal combustion can threaten aquatic ecosystems through both particulate matter and leached hazardous trace elements (HTEs). However, previous toxicity studies of CFA towards aquatic organisms mainly focused on the effects

Targeted Multifunctional Fluorine‐Rich Copolymer Coating Design for Ambient‐Stable Prelithiated SiOC Anodes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A fluorine‐rich acrylate copolymer, poly (tridecafluorooctyl methacrylate‐co‐methyl methacrylate) (PFMMA), is introduced as a multifunctional protective coating to stabilize the prelithiated SiOC electrodes in humid conditions and preserve unimpeded interfacial ion/charge transport during redox reactions.

Membrane‐Active Peptide Protects Against Inflammation by Targeting NLRP3 Activation at the Trans‐Golgi Network

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The membrane‐active peptide Pep19‐2.5 reduces harmful inflammation by blocking activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome at trans‐Golgi network membranes. By targeting key membrane interactions, Pep19‐2.5 suppresses inflammatory IL‐1β production and alleviates allergic airway inflammation in mice, leading to reduced immune cell infiltration and improved ...

Nanovesicles With Mechanically Induced Adjuvanticity for Robust Melanoma Vaccination Toward Tumor‐Associated Macrophages

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Rigidity‐tunable nanovesicle (P‐Pm) with mechanically induced adjuvanticity toward tumor‐associated macrophages (TAMs) was designed to engineer R848/gp100 antigen ‐loaded nanovaccine (P@Rg‐Pm), which achieved outstanding anti‐tumor outcomes in both therapeutic and preventive model of B16‐F10 melanoma.

Gas Sensing With Aerogels: A Critical Review on Structure‐Property Correlations and Performance Optimization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
With high specific surface area, and adjustable interface, aerogel provides a multi‐functional platform for gas sensing. This review systematically links structural parameters (specific surface area, pore size, heterojunctions) to sensing metrics (sensitivity, selectivity, stability), critically evaluates optimization strategies, and outlines future ...

Chemical‐Biological Fixation for Enhanced Bone Augmentation in Guided Bone Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
M2N2ACa is an innovative injectable thermoresponsive barrier membrane adhesive to achieve reliable bone graft fixation. It provides strong wet adhesion and promotes the bio‐stabilization mediated by coagulation through controlled calcium release. This dual‐fixation strategy combines external chemical fixation and internal biological fixation via clot ...

Stacking Pressure‐Driven Interfacial Dynamics in Anode‐Free Solid‐State Lithium Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Using a three‐electrode setup, it is found that stacking pressure improves both anode and cathode interfaces but more effectively stabilizes the anode. Under low pressure, a sudden anode resistance rise indicates contact loss. Higher pressure delays this via Li creep and plastic deformation, maintaining interfacial contact.

Nanometer Layer Coating to Lactose Particles for Optimization of Dexamethasone Pulmonary Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nanometer layer coating (NLC) was investigated and its mechanism illustrated by advanced characterization techniques. The effects and application for the inhalation of dexamethasone (DEX) were demonstrated through in vitro and in vivo evaluation. This approach increased DEX bioavailability and enabled the dose to be reduced to 1/30 of the intravenous ...
