A theory of political gridlock [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
This paper studies how electoral incentives influence the outcomes of political negotiations. It considers a game between two political parties that have to bargain over which policy to implement.

Solution‐Processed Nickel Oxide as Efficient Hole Transport Layers in Inverted Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This review summarizes recent advances in four mainstream solution‐based techniques for synthesizing NiOx hole‐transport layers for high‐performance perovskite photovoltaic cells, and highlights the key challenges and future prospects for achieving high efficiency, long‐term stability, and low‐cost perovskite photovoltaic technologies toward ...

Selective Interfacial Barriers Drive High‐Performance GeTe Thermoelectrics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Carrier‐phonon decoupling is the key to developing high‐performance thermoelectric materials. Here, we demonstrate that selective interfacial barriers can decouple carrier and phonon transport, thus achieving an exceptional peak ZT of ∼2.7 at 773 K, along with a record‐high average ZT of 1.9 across 300–773 K in the (Ge0.82Mn0.04Bi0.04Pb0.1Te)0.99(VSe2 ...

Still Out of Touch? Parties and Their Voters on the EU Dimension

open access: yesPolitics and Governance
Previous research has uncovered a significant mismatch between parties and their voters on the EU dimension, showing that parties across the EU typically support more European integration than their electorates.

How unstable? Volatility and the genuinely new parties in Eastern Europe [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Measuring of party system stability in Eastern Europe during the first decade of democratic elections presents problems. The traditional quantitative measure - volatility - does not distinguish between the dynamics among incumbent parties and the rise of

Alcohol‐Adduct Mediated Precursor Stabilization Strategies for Conformal SnO2 Layers in Highly Efficient and Stable Perovskite Solar Modules

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
An alcohol‐adduct‐mediated strategy is employed to stabilize tin isopropoxide for the formation of a homogeneous double electron transport layer (ETL) incorporating SnO2 nanoparticles (NPs). This double‐ETL exhibits improved optical and charge‐transport properties due to reduced defect density and better energy level alignment, resulting in high ...

Mimicry or meltdown? On the greening of local new politics parties [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
By scrutinizing a specific type of local lists - interpreted as a local variant of ‘New Politics Parties’ - this paper aims to give an initial impetus to understanding the internal variations concealed by the all-purpose denominator of local lists. Local

Ban Glyphosate—Does It Affect the Swedish Farmers' Willingness to Grow Cover Crops?

open access: yesApplied Economic Perspectives and Policy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The cultivation of cover crops is one of the new Eco‐scheme practices introduced in Sweden. This study examines how the design of policy attributes of these schemes influences farmers' willingness to grow cover crops on arable land, with particular focus on the potential impact of a glyphosate ban.

Impact of the Russian-Ukrainian Crisis on the Approaches of German Parties towards Energy Transition [PDF]

open access: yesСовременная Европа
Since the 1990s, Germany has been following the concept of the energy transition. A long political debate on the necessity of its implementation ended after the Fukushima Daiichi accident in 2011, when a consensus emerged among the leading German parties

Mediation, arbitration and negotiation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We compare three common dispute resolution processes { negotiation, mediation, and arbitration { in the framework of Crawford and Sobel (1982). Under negotiation, the two parties engage in (possibly arbitrarily long) face-to-face cheap talk.
