A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Artifacts in ultracentrifugal estimation of aqueous fattv acid concentration

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1972
Ultracentrifugation for determination of isotropic concentrations of fatty acids is widely used. However, several artifacts, which would affect the isotropic concentration, could occur if care is not taken.

Nuclear pore links Fob1‐dependent rDNA damage relocation to lifespan control

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Damaged rDNA accumulates at a specific perinuclear interface that couples nucleolar escape with nuclear envelope association. Nuclear pores at this site help inhibit Fob1‐induced rDNA instability. This spatial organization of damage handling supports a functional link between nuclear architecture, rDNA stability, and replicative lifespan in yeast.

partition: A fast and flexible framework for data reduction in R

open access: yes, 2020
partition is a fast and flexible framework for agglomerative partitioning. partition uses an approach called Direct-Measure-Reduce to create new variables that maintain the user-specified minimum level of information.

A partition of unity FEM for time-dependent diffusion problems using multiple enrichment functions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
An enriched partition of unity FEM is developed to solve time-dependent diffusion problems. In the present formulation, multiple exponential functions describing the spatial and temporal diffusion decay are embedded in the finite element approximation ...

The anti-partition of Ireland League [PDF]

open access: yes
Typescript document, explaining that, at a meeting, it was decided to launch an organisation for the purpose of informing public opinion in Great Britain in favour of the abolition of partition in Ireland.

On some mean value theorem via covering argument

open access: yesAnalele Stiintifice ale Universitatii Ovidius Constanta: Seria Matematica, 2020
We show how the full covering argument can be used to prove some type of Cauchy mean value theorem.

Chameleon sequences reveal structural effects in proteins representing micelle‐like distribution of hydrophobicity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Amino acids sequence of two different proteins with the same sequence (chameleon sequence—black boxes) represent in 3D structure of the proteins different secondary structures: HHHH—helical and BBB—Beta‐structural. The chains folded in water environment adopt different III‐order structures in which the chameleon fragments appear to adopt similar status

Logical entropy of quantum dynamical systems

open access: yesOpen Physics, 2016
This paper introduces the concepts of logical entropy and conditional logical entropy of hnite partitions on a quantum logic. Some of their ergodic properties are presented.

Matrix metalloproteinase‐9 regulates cell adhesion and membrane protrusive activity of ovarian cancer cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Matrix metalloproteinase‐9 (MMP9) drives ovarian cancer progression. Using MMP9‐null cells (M9‐KO) created from ovarian cancer cells, we found MMP9 loss did not block Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF)‐driven E‐cadherin dissolution or EMT but delayed and reduced EGF‐driven membrane protrusions. Transient MMP9 re‐expression drove membrane protrusion.
