Assessing Cognitive Functioning in Children With Brain Tumors: Interaction of Neighborhood Social Determinants of Health and Neurological Risk

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background This study investigated how neighborhood‐level social determinants of health (SDOH), including redlining and neurological risk, interact to influence cognitive outcomes in children treated for brain tumors (CTBT). Methods A retrospective chart review of 161 CTBT aged 5–17 was conducted.

A Statistical Model of Current Loops and Magnetic Monopoles

open access: yes, 2015
We formulate a natural model of current loops and magnetic monopoles for arbitrary planar graphs, which we call the monopole-dimer model, and express the partition function of this model as a determinant.

Sphere Partition Functions and the Zamolodchikov Metric [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We study the finite part of the sphere partition function of d-dimensional Conformal Field Theories (CFTs) as a function of exactly marginal couplings. In odd dimensions, this quantity is physical and independent of the exactly marginal couplings.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Current partition: Nonequilibrium Green's function Approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
We present a solution to the problem of AC current partition in a multi-probe mesoscopic conductor within the nonequilibrium Green's function formalism. This allows the derivation of dynamic conductance which is appropriate for nonequilibrium situations ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Maximal multiplicative properties of partitions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Extending the partition function multiplicatively to a function on partitions, we show that it has a unique maximum at an explicitly given partition for any $n\neq 7$. The basis for this is an inequality for the partition function which seems not to have

Complete factorization in minimal N=4 Chern-Simons-matter theory

open access: yes, 2018
We investigate an N=4 U(N)_k x U(N+M)_{-k} Chern-Simons theory coupled to one bifundamental hypermultiplet by employing its partition function, which is given by 2N+M dimensional integration via localization.

Residue Classes of the Partition Function. [PDF]

open access: yesMathematics of Computation, 1980
The results of computations of p ( n ) ( mod p k ) p(n)\;\pmod {p^k} for primes p > 100 p > 100 are summarized in frequency tables of residue classes.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.
