Quantum statistical parton distributions
Journal of Physics A: Mathematical and General, 2002Summary: Modified Fermi-Dirac functions for the fermionic partons and a Bose-Einstein expression for gluons allow us to successfully describe both polarized and unpolarized structure functions in terms of a small number of parameters. Definite predictions are made for \(\bar q\) distributions to be tested in forthcoming experiments.

Parton distributions in hadrons
Progress in Particle and Nuclear Physics, 2006Abstract We use the statistical model of Zhang et al. [Y.-J. Zhang, B. Zhang, B.-Q. Ma, Phys. Lett. B 523 (2001) 260; Y.-J. Zhang, B.-S. Zou, L.-M. Yang, Phys. Lett. B 528 (2002) 228; Y.-J. Zhang, W.-Z. Deng, B.-Q. Ma, Phys. Rev. D 65 (2002) 114005] to calculate parton distributions in hadrons.

The quark and gluon distributions in nuclei are investigated by a parton model, where the common partons of several nucleons and the non-nucleonic components are considered. The comparisons of this model with the data for F2A1(x)/F2A2(x) and the recent data for GSn(x)/GC(x) are also present.

Polarized parton distribution functions
Physical Review Letters, 1991Polarized parton distribution functions for a hadron target are defined in terms of gauge-invariant correlation functions. The polarized gluon contribution to the {ital g}{sub 1} structure function of the nucleon is computed using the modified minimal-subtraction scheme as a simple example of the calculational method.

The revelation of the late 1960s that the proton has distinct substructure raised a pivotal question: how are hadron observables generated from more fundamental degrees of freedom? Answering this question—where the generic point-like ‘parton’ constituents originally introduced by Feynman [4] are now identified with the asymptotically-free quarks and ...
