Fate of N additions in a multiple resource‐limited Mediterranean oak savanna

open access: yesEcosphere, Volume 10, Issue 11, November 2019., 2019
Abstract Mediterranean oak savannas, such as Spanish dehesas, are multiple resource‐limited ecosystems found in semiarid regions which are key contributors to interannual variability of the global carbon (C) budget. Interactions between nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) cycles are expected to play a major role in overall ecosystem function as ...

Interleaved parton showers and tuning prospects [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2011
General-purpose Monte Carlo event generators have become important tools in particle physics, allowing the simulation of exclusive hadronic final states. In this article we examine the Pythia 8 generator, in particular focusing on its parton-shower algorithms.

Modification of Jet Structure in High‐Multiplicity pp Collisions due to Multiple‐Parton Interactions and Observing a Multiplicity‐Independent Characteristic Jet Size

open access: yesAdvances in High Energy Physics, Volume 2019, Issue 1, 2019., 2019
We study the multiplicity dependence of jet structures in pp collisions using Monte Carlo event generators. We give predictions for multiplicity‐differential jet structures and present evidence for a nontrivial jet shape dependence on charged hadron event multiplicity that can be used as a sensitive tool to experimentally differentiate between equally ...

Matrix-element corrections to parton shower algorithms [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
We discuss two ways in which parton shower algorithms can be supplemented by matrix-element corrections to ensure the correct hard limit: by using complementary phase-space regions, or by modifying the shower itself.

PanScales showers for hadron collisions: all-order validation

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2022
We carry out extensive tests of the next-to-leading logarithmic (NLL) accuracy of the PanScales parton showers, as introduced recently for colour-singlet production in hadron collisions.

Constraints on Higgs Effective Couplings in Hνν¯ Production of CLIC at 380 GeV

open access: yesAdvances in High Energy Physics, Volume 2018, Issue 1, 2018., 2018
The potential of the e+e-→νν¯H process in the first stage of CLIC considering center‐of‐mass energy of 380 GeV and assuming the baseline integrated luminosity of 500 fb -1 is examined to probe CP‐conserving dimension‐six operators in a model‐independent Standard Model effective field theory framework. In the analysis, a detailed fast simulation on e+e-→

An Overview of Scale Invariance in Proton Structure With Holographic Insights

open access: yesAdvances in High Energy Physics, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
The concept of self‐similarity in the internal structure of the proton, rooted in scale invariance and fractal geometry, provides an intriguing framework for understanding the behavior of parton distribution functions (PDFs), particularly in the small x region probed in deep inelastic scattering (DIS).

Searches for Massive Graviton Resonances at the LHC

open access: yesAdvances in High Energy Physics, Volume 2018, Issue 1, 2018., 2018
The Standard Model problems lead to the new theories of extra dimensions: Randall‐Sundrum model, Arkani‐Hamed‐Dimopoulos‐Dvali model, and TeV−1 model. In the framework of these models, with the help of computer program Pythia8.2, the production cross sections for Kaluza‐Klein particles at various energies at the LHC were calculated.

Monte Carlo simulations of hard QCD radiation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Monte Carlo event generators, such as Herwig++, provide a full simulation of events at collider experiments. They give a fully exclusive description of hadronic final states and are therefore crucial tools for the planning of future experiments and ...
