Coherent parton showers with local recoils [PDF]
We outline a new formalism for dipole-type parton showers which maintain exact energy-momentum conservation at each step of the evolution. Particular emphasis is put on the coherence properties, the level at which recoil effects do enter and the role of transverse momentum generation from initial state radiation.

Combining single and double parton scatterings in a parton shower [PDF]
Abstract Double parton scattering (DPS) processes in which there is a perturbative “1 → 2” splitting in both protons overlap with loop corrections to single parton scattering (SPS). Any fundamental theoretical treatment of DPS needs to address this double-counting issue.

PanScales showers for hadron collisions: all-order validation
We carry out extensive tests of the next-to-leading logarithmic (NLL) accuracy of the PanScales parton showers, as introduced recently for colour-singlet production in hadron collisions.

QED Radiative Correction for the Single-W Production using a Parton Shower Method [PDF]
A parton shower method for the photonic radiative correction is applied to the single W-boson production processes. The energy scale for the evolution of the parton shower is determined so that the correct soft-photon emission is reproduced.

On the transverse momentum in Z-boson production in a virtuality ordered parton shower [PDF]
Cross sections for physical processes that involve very different momentum scales in the same process will involve large logarithms of the ratio of the momentum scales when calculated in perturbation theory.

Fate of N additions in a multiple resource‐limited Mediterranean oak savanna
Abstract Mediterranean oak savannas, such as Spanish dehesas, are multiple resource‐limited ecosystems found in semiarid regions which are key contributors to interannual variability of the global carbon (C) budget. Interactions between nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) cycles are expected to play a major role in overall ecosystem function as ...

Slepton pair production in the POWHEG BOX
We present an implementation for slepton pair production at hadron colliders in the POWHEG BOX, a framework for combining next-to-leading order QCD calculations with parton-shower Monte-Carlo programs.

We study the multiplicity dependence of jet structures in pp collisions using Monte Carlo event generators. We give predictions for multiplicity‐differential jet structures and present evidence for a nontrivial jet shape dependence on charged hadron event multiplicity that can be used as a sensitive tool to experimentally differentiate between equally ...

We investigate the simulation of events with gaps between jets with a veto on additional radiation in the gap in Herwig++. We discover that the currently-used random treatment of radiation in the parton shower is generating some unphysical behaviour for ...
