We study the different explanations of the European Muon Collaboration effect. Although the theoretical models are very sensitive to input free-nucleon structure functions, we find that each has distinctive testable traits. Therefore, we examine different reactions to see which can distinguish the models.

The parton distribution in the multiperipheral parton model
Lettere al Nuovo Cimento, 1974An attempt is made to find the parton distribution function consistent with the multiperipheral parton model using the following fundamental assumptions: each parton gives the same contribution to the distribution function, and each multiperipheral diagram satisfies the complete factorization, The one-parton distribution function is obtained and ...

Parton distributions in hadrons
Progress in Particle and Nuclear Physics, 2006Abstract We use the statistical model of Zhang et al. [Y.-J. Zhang, B. Zhang, B.-Q. Ma, Phys. Lett. B 523 (2001) 260; Y.-J. Zhang, B.-S. Zou, L.-M. Yang, Phys. Lett. B 528 (2002) 228; Y.-J. Zhang, W.-Z. Deng, B.-Q. Ma, Phys. Rev. D 65 (2002) 114005] to calculate parton distributions in hadrons.

Parton Shower based on TMD parton distributions
2019We present a parton shower based on Transverse Momentum Dependent (TMD)parton distributions obtained with the Parton Branching method. We investigatehow well the TMD parton shower reproduces the TMD parton distributions.Applications of the TMD parton shower to LHC processes will be presented.
