ELECTROCHEMICAL AND SPONTANEOUS PASSIVATION OF THE CoCr ALLOY AS CORROSION PROTECTION [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Engineering Letters, 2017
The aim of this work was to compare the level of protection of spontaneous and electrochemical passivation of the CoCr alloy against corrosion in environment simulating the conditions prevailing in the mouth. Passivation layer was obtained as spontaneous

Corrosion resistance and passivation behavior of 3004 AlMnMg and 4044AlSi aluminum alloys in acid-chloride electrolytes

open access: yesMaterials Research Express, 2021
Corrosion resistance of 3004 and 4044 aluminium alloys (3004Al and 4044Al) in neutral chloride (0.5%–4.5% concentration), sulphate (0.00625M-0.1 M concentration), and chloride-sulphate (0.00625 M H _2 SO _4 /0.5%–4.5% chloride concentration) solutions ...

Corrosion Resistance of Steel S355MC in Crude Glycerol

open access: yesTechnologies, 2023
Corrosion is the degradation of materials in oxidizing environments. In aqueous solutions, it is initiated by the surface reaction of the metallic material with the surrounding electrolyte. The corrosion rate of metals can be significantly reduced by the

The Aging Blood: Cellular Origins, Circulating Drivers, and Therapeutic Potential

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
As a conduit linking all organs, the blood system both reflects and actively drives systemic aging. This review highlights how circulating pro‐aging and antiaging factors and age‐associated hematopoietic stem cell dysfunction contribute to immunosenescence and multi‐organ decline, positioning the hematopoietic system as a target for aging intervention.

Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotube-Assisted Encapsulation Approach for Stable Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesMolecules, 2021
Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) are regarded as the next-generation thin-film energy harvester, owing to their high performance. However, there is a lack of studies on their encapsulation technology, which is critical for resolving their shortcomings, such

The MMP‐9/TIMP‐1 Ratio and Concentrations of Osteopontin Are Elevated in Cerebrospinal Fluid of People With Multiple Sclerosis and Decrease After Autologous Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives To evaluate the utility of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) biomarkers—matrix metalloproteinase‐9 (MMP‐9), tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases‐1 (TIMP‐1), the MMP‐9/TIMP‐1 ratio, and osteopontin (OPN)—as indicators of blood–brain barrier (BBB) integrity and disease activity in people with relapsing–remitting multiple sclerosis (pwMS ...

Passivation Strategies through Surface Reconstruction toward Highly Efficient and Stable Perovskite Solar Cells on n-i-p Architecture

open access: yesEnergies, 2021
Perovskite solar cells have achieved remarkable enhancement in their performance in recent years. However, to get an entrance to the photovoltaic market, great effort is still necessary to further improve their efficiency as well as their long-term ...

Passivity, complete passivity, and virtual temperatures [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 2015
We give a simple and intuitive proof that the only states which are completely passive, i.e., those states from which work cannot be extracted even with infinitely many copies, are Gibbs states at positive temperatures. The proof makes use of the idea of virtual temperatures, i.e., the association of temperatures to pairs of energy levels (transitions).

Life‐Threatening Bradycardia in Anti‐NMDA‐Receptor Encephalitis and a Novel Use for Permanent Pacing

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Pediatric anti‐NMDA receptor encephalitis (pNMDARE) is an autoantibody‐mediated disorder that can cause severe autonomic dysfunction, including symptomatic bradycardia and asystole. Dysautonomia can last for years, making it very challenging to manage.
