Opto-Mechanics of deformable Fabry-Perot Cavities
We investigated the opto-mechanical properties of a Fabry-Perot cavity with a mirror mounted on a spring. Such a structure allows the cavity length to change elastically under the effect of light induced forces. This opto-mechanical coupling is exploited

MagPiezo enables wireless activation of endogenous Piezo1 channels without genetic modification using 19 nm magnetic nanoparticles and low‐intensity magnetic fields. It generates torque forces at the piconewton scale to trigger mechanotransduction in endothelial cells, standing as a novel platform to interrogate and manipulate Piezo1 activity in vitro.

Effects of Molecular Designs and Double‐Network Morphologies for Bioadhesive Semiconductors
This study establishes molecular‐to‐mesoscale design rules for bioadhesive semiconducting polymers (BASCs). It identifies how side‐chain length, double‐network formation, and film thickness modulate adhesion strength and electronic performance, providing insight into the rational design of intrinsically adhesive semiconductors for stable and efficient ...

Spaceborne Passive Radiative Cooler [PDF]
Radiative coolers are passive refrigeration devices for satellites and space probes that provide refrigeration for an infrared or other type of detector that operates at cryogenic temperatures. Typically a cooler can supply 20 mW of cooling at about 85 K,

This review maps how MOFs can manage hazardous gases by combining adsorption, neutralization, and reutilization, enabling sustainable air‐pollution control. Covering chemical warfare agent simulants, SO2, NOx, NH3, H2S, and volatile organic compounds, it highlights structure‐guided strategies that boost selectivity, water tolerance, and cycling ...

The dynamical disconnection of sunspots from their magnetic roots
After a dynamically active emergence phase, magnetic flux at the solar surface soon ceases to show strong signs of the subsurface dynamics of its parent magnetic structure. This indicates that some kind of disconnection of the emerged flux from its roots

Shape‐Changing Multiphase Microparticles from Complex Liquid Crystal Emulsions
Liquid crystalline network (LCN) microparticles are prepared from single, double (Janus), and triple emulsions through a simple and scalable bulk‐emulsification strategy. Under heating, the particles exhibit robust, reversible, large‐amplitude deformations that depend both on the morphology and the liquid crystals director field configuration.

Coagulative granular hydrogels are composed of packed thrombin‐functionalized microgels that catalyze the conversion of fibrinogen into a secondary fibrin network, filling the interstitial voids. This bio‐inspired approach stabilizes the biomaterial to match the robustness of bulk hydrogels without compromising injectability, mimicking the initial ...

Passive daytime radiative cooling
With average global temperatures constantly increasing, the emerging field of passive daytime radiative cooling holds promise to alleviate our growing cooling needs and protect the environment by providing us with electricity-free cooling power. Here, we briefly revise the principles behind this rapidly expanding field, its main material platforms and ...
