Passive Downdraught Evaporative Cooling
Indoor and Built Environment, 2000This is the second in a series of four papers that describe a 3-year EU-funded research project into the application of passive downdraught evaporative cooling (PDEC) to non-domestic buildings.

Ultrahigh Passive Cooling Power in Hydrogel with Rationally Designed Optofluidic Properties.
Nano letters (Print), 2023The cooling power of a radiative cooler is more than halved in the tropics, e.g., Singapore, because of its harsh weather conditions including high humidity (84% on average), strong downward atmospheric radiation (∼40% higher than elsewhere), abundant ...

Cool Materials for Passive Cooling in Buildings
2021Cool materials are an acknowledged, environmentally friendly and relatively cost-effective solution that can be easily integrated in the built environment with the threefold aim of reducing building cooling energy needs, mitigating the urban heat island (UHI) phenomenon and, at a larger scale, counteracting global warming.

Effective Passive Cooling During Neonatal Transport
Therapeutic Hypothermia and Temperature Management, 2022We retrospectively evaluated the rectal temperature of 297 hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) outborn newborns who were passive-cooling transported by Neonatal Emergency Transport Service (Genoa and Rome, Italy) at their arrival in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. By a total of 1461 transports, 297 were for suspected HIE.

Self-sustained and Insulated Radiative/Evaporative Cooler for Daytime Subambient Passive Cooling.
ACS Applied Materials and InterfacesPassive cooling technologies are one of the promising solutions to the global energy crisis due to no consumption of fossil fuels during operation. However, the existing radiative and evaporative coolers still have problems achieving daytime subambient ...
