Negative reflection of elastic guided waves in chaotic and random scattering media [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The propagation of waves in complex media can be harnessed either by taming the incident wave-field impinging on the medium or by forcing waves along desired paths through its careful design.

Ultraviolet Photodetectors Based on 4H‐SiC With Honeycomb‐Like Light‐Trapping Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 22, 17 April 2026.
A facile photoelectrochemical etching method creates honeycomb‐like light‐trapping microstructures on SiC. These microstructures suppress UV reflection and enhance absorption by extending the optical path and facilitating multiple internal reflections, while strengthening the local electric field.

Generation of Nano‐Antibodies Targeting the SNMP1 Membrane Receptor of Spodoptera littoralis Using Extracellular Vesicles

open access: yesJournal of Extracellular Biology, Volume 5, Issue 4, April 2026.
Extracellular vesicles (EVs) represent an excellent platform for the expression of recombinant membrane proteins and their use in llama immunization to generate nano‐antibodies (Nabs). In this study, we present a novel strategy, termed the multi‐layer approach, for EV immobilization in biopanning and ELISA applications.

Study of optical techniques for the Ames unitary wind tunnels. Part 4: Model deformation [PDF]

open access: yes
A survey of systems capable of model deformation measurements was conducted. The survey included stereo-cameras, scanners, and digitizers. Moire, holographic, and heterodyne interferometry techniques were also looked at.

Study of optical techniques for the Ames unitary wind tunnel, part 7 [PDF]

open access: yes
A summary of optical techniques for the Ames Unitary Plan wind tunnels are discussed. Six optical techniques were studied: Schlieren, light sheet and laser vapor screen, angle of attack, model deformation, infrared imagery, and digital image processing ...

Robust 3D Surface Recovery by Applying a Focus Criterion in White Light Scanning Interference Microscopy

open access: yes, 2019
White light scanning interference (WLSI) microscopes provide an accurate surface topography of engineered surfaces. However, the measurement accuracy is substantially reduced in surfaces with low-reflectivity regions or high roughness, like a surface ...

Orbiting Space Interferometer (OSI): A first generation space interferometer [PDF]

open access: yes
The technical requirements and performance of a first generation space interferometer is discussed. The performance of an interferometer, sensitivity, field of view, dynamic range, astrometric accuracy, etc, in space is set by what cannot be achieved for

Interferometric science results on young stellar objects

open access: yes, 2009
Long-baseline interferometry at infrared wavelengths allows the innermost regions around young stars to be observed. These observations directly probe the location of the dust and gas in the disks.

Passive Array Correlation-Based Imaging in a Random Waveguide

open access: yes, 2013
We consider reflector imaging in a weakly random waveguide. We address the situation in which the source is farther from the reflector to be imaged than the energy equipartition distance, but the receiver array is closer to the reflector to be imaged ...
