Molten KNO2 treatment induces a lowrefractive index disordered carbon shell on fluorescent nanodiamonds, enhancing fluorescence emission while preserving spin coherence. Machine learningassisted correlative TEMPL enables direct single‐particle resolution of this enhancement relative to air‐oxidized nanodiamonds of similar morphology, establishing a ...

A Simple Passive Scalar Advection-Diffusion Model
This paper presents a simple, one-dimensional model of a randomly advected passive scalar. The model exhibits anomalous inertial range scaling for the structure functions constructed from scalar differences. The model provides a simple computational test

Revisiting Passivity and Politeness in Selected Indic Languages
This paper examines politeness and its realisation through passive constructions in Hindi, drawing on established theoretical frameworks. Using fresh survey data from near‑native Hindi speakers whose first languages are Eastern Indic languages (EILs), it explores how passive constructions may get differently ranked in the politeness hierarchies.

Does it pay to invest in art? A selection-corrected returns perspective : [draft october 15, 2013] [PDF]
This paper shows the importance of correcting for sample selection when investing in illiquid assets with endogenous trading. Using a large sample of 20,538 paintings that were sold repeatedly at auction between 1972 and 2010, we find that paintings with
