Enhanced Strength and Corrosion Resistance of Ti‐13Nb‐12Ta‐10Zr‐4Sn Alloy by Aging Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work systematically investigates the effect of aging treatment on mechanical properties and corrosion behavior of vacuum arc‐melted Ti‐13Nb‐12Ta‐10Zr‐4Sn alloy. Owing to the increased α″ martensite, strength and corrosion resistance were significantly enhanced by aging treatment.

Does fasting influence preload responsiveness in ASA 1 and 2 volunteers?

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Anestesiologia
Introduction: Preoperative fasting was long regarded as an important cause of fluid depletion, leading to hemodynamic instability during surgery should replenishment is not promptly instituted.

Analysis of a Retrial Queue With Two-Type Breakdowns and Delayed Repairs

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
This article studies an M/G/1 retrial queue with two types of breakdowns. When the server is idle, it is subject to breakdowns according to a Poisson process with rate δ and it cannot be repaired immediately.

Direct Metal Deposition of Graphene–Ti28Nb35.4Zr Matrix Composites With Enhanced Mechanical, Corrosion, and Biocompatibility Properties for Bone Implants

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Graphene nanoplatelet (0.1 wt.%) reinforcement significantly enhances the performance of β Ti‐28Nb‐35.4Zr alloy. Grain refinement, reduced water contact angle, and improved surface characteristics promote osteoblast adhesion and complete surface coverage after 7 days.

S&P-500 vs. Nasdaq-100 price movement prediction with LSTM for different daily periods

open access: yesMachine Learning with Applications
This paper explores the efficiency of LSTM neural networks in predicting price movements for the two major U.S. stock indices: the S&P-500 and the Nasdaq-100 index. We consider three distinct daily periods: “overnight” (Close-to-Open), “daytime” (Open-to-
