Performance Improvement of Wavelength Division Multiplexing Passive Optical Networks (WDM PONs)
Passive Optical Network (PON) introduces a good data transmission rate and large bandwidth. We have demonstrated a bidirectional PON system based on a Fabry-Perot laser diode (FPLD) with two cascaded array waveguide gratings (AWGs). The downstream data rate equals to 10 Gbps and the upstream data rate equals to 2.5 Gbps.
