Oral application of L-menthol in the heat: From pleasure to performance [PDF]
When menthol is applied to the oral cavity it presents with a familiar refreshing sensation and cooling mint flavour. This may be deemed hedonic in some individuals, but may cause irritation in others.

Actuating and Sensing Composites of Liquid Crystal Elastomers and Poly(ionic liquid)s
Ionic conductive, mechanically tough, flexible, and stretchable filaments of a composite material comprising a liquid crystal elastomer and a poly(ionic liquid) are produced through 3D printing, which exhibit large actuation strain under stimulation and electrical resistance variation in response to deformation or environmental condition changes. Their

Effects of passive pre-chamber jet ignition on knock combustion at hydrogen engine
The use of gaseous fuels, including hydrogen, to fuel an engine enables an increase in efficiency and a significant reduction in toxic exhaust emissions. The research reported in this paper concerns a two-stage passive hydrogen combustion system for analyzing knock combustion under varying process conditions.

Shaping of Biohybrid Functional Living Materials
This work demonstrates a strategy for shaping living mycelium into functional materials by directing its natural growth. Nanoparticles armor hyphae, micron‐scale particles entangle within the network, and printed hydrogel architectures steer expansion, creating defined geometries.

Time Course of the Increase in the Myocardial Slow Inward Current after a Photochemically Generated Concentration Jump of Intracellular cAMP [PDF]
Voltage-clamped atrial trabeculae from bullfrog hearts were exposed to membrane-permeant photolyzable o-nitrobenzyl esters of cAMP and cGMP. UV flashes produced intracellular concentration jumps of cAMP or cGMP. With the cAMP derivative, flashes resulted

[EN] Due to its potential to extend the lean limit or overcome knock-limited conditions on spark-ignited (SI) engines, the pre-chamber spark-ignition (PCSI) concept has gained attention as an efficient alternative to the conventional ignition architecture. Nevertheless, especially in engine-like conditions, the effect of the main geometrical parameters
