A passive protection cell consists essentially of a t.r. cell containing argon without water vapour. The effects of the omission of water vapour from the gas filling on keep-alive characteristics, leakage power and recovery time are described. Tests on several cells in active duplexing systems have shown that lives in excess of 10000 hours are obtained.

Passive protection of sheep against capripoxvirus
Research in Veterinary Science, 1986The close antigenic relationship between strains of capripox was shown by passively immunising sheep with serum against capripoxviruses isolated from a sheep and from a goat. Sheep immunised with immune serum to Oman sheep pox or Yemen goat pox resisted challenge with Yemen goat pox or Nigeria sheep pox respectively.

Rotavirus infection in lambs: Studies on passive protection
Archives of Virology, 1976Gnotobiotic lambs were protected against rotavirus infection by the presence in the gut at the time of infection of colostrum or serum containing antibodies to rotavirus. This protection was observed even when passively-acquired antibody was not present in the serum of the infected lamb.

Passive Immune Protection of Turkeys against Coryza
Avian Diseases, 1997Antisera made against whole cells of Bordetella avium protected turkeys against disease signs of turkey coryza, but antiserum against the dermonecrotic heat-labile toxin (DHLT) did not. Neither antiserum against whole cells nor antiserum against DHLT protected turkeys against colonization of the trachea by B. avium.
