[Active and passive safety systems (not only) for senior citizens : Systems to increase road safety].

Unfallchirurgie (Heidelberg, Germany), 2023
Due to a constantly increasing life expectancy and the need to stay mobile at a high age, the proportion of over 65-year-olds in traffic accidents is increasing from year to year.In order to identify potentials for increasing the safety of seniors in road traffic, accident data were analyzed with respect to the categories of road users and accident ...

Safety management system in staircase with passive RFID sensor tags

2019 IEEE International Conference on Consumer Electronics - Taiwan (ICCE-TW), 2019
This research proposes a sensor system in staircase for monitoring the abnormal behaviors of the elderly. In this system, passive RFID sensor tags are set on the handrail and the wall of the staircase. Then, it can distinguish three states of the elderly such as general, walking, and abnormal ones.

Verifying safety of interconnected passive systems using SOS programming

52nd IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 2013
We consider a network of interconnected dynamical subsystems with a state-space safety constraint and propose a verification technique that constructs a (robustly) invariant set verifying safety. The invariant set is a sublevel set of a Lyapunov function constructed from local storage functions for each subsystem.

Passive safety systems in view of sustainable development

2010
The international community starts the development of new advanced reactor design by including the use of passive safety systems. In this framework it is considered the use of the natural circulation for the cooling of the core in normal and transient conditions.
