A passivity measure of systems in cascade based on passivity indices
49th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (CDC), 2010Passivity indices are defined in terms of an excess or shortage of passivity, and they have been introduced in order to extend the passivity-based stability conditions to more general cases for both passive and non-passive systems. While most of the work on passivity-based stability results in the literature focuses on employing the feedback ...

A method of synthesis for passive linear one-way systems unilateral at all frequencies is treated. Several examples such as electromechanical one-way systems are shown. The conditions of physical realizality for passive linear two-terminal-pair networks are introduced.

Integration of passive coherent radar system into the passive TDOA system
2012 13th International Radar Symposium, 2012One of the ways of passive coherent radar system integration into the passive TDOA system is considered. Generalized algorithm of the objects location estimation on their radiation of the onboard radio technical systems and in the field of highlighting by the different purposes ground based transmitters with a priory known and unknown coordinates is ...

Passive stereoscopic panomorph system
SPIE Proceedings, 2013In the last decade, wide-angle stereoscopic systems using fisheye lenses have been proposed but the compromise made to obtain a large field of view is low resolution and high distortion resulting in imprecise depth estimation of objects in a 3D scene.

On the passivity of linear delay systems
IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 2000Summary: This note presents some sufficient conditions for a linear system with (point or distributed) delay in the state to be passive. Passivity-based (memoryless) stabilization of linear delay systems is also addressed. The proposed approach is based on a Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional construction. Numerical examples are also included.

A notion of passivity for hybrid systems
Proceedings of the 40th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (Cat. No.01CH37228), 2002We propose a notion of passivity for hybrid systems. Our work is motivated by problems in haptics and teleoperation where several computer controlled mechanical systems are connected through a communication channel. To account for time delays and to better react to user actions it is desirable to design controllers that can switch between different ...

Advances in computer-based control systems require to consider digital controllers on the base of multirate and unconventional sampling schemes. The purpose of this paper is to extend the concepts of system passivity which are well known ideas in the context of continuous and discrete time systems to the case of sampled-data systems.

Evaluation of the Reliability of a Passive System
2001Passive systems deserve a special attention within the nuclear technology owing to their potential to reduce the cost for the production of electricity and to enhance the safety level of power plants. Drawbacks for their use come from the larger difficulties in the thermal-hydraulic design (compared with active design) and from reliability ...
