Educational passivity – from theory to practice

open access: yesEdukacyjna Analiza Transakcyjna, 2020
The article offers a review of “Passivity at school” by Pierzchała (2013) in terms of the implications for theory and practice of transactional analysis. The main findings from the research project were summarised and compared to other studies concerning

Dissipativity preserving model reduction by retention of trajectories of minimal dissipation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We present a method for model reduction based on ideas from the behavioral theory of dissipative systems, in which the reduced order model is required to reproduce a subset of the set of trajectories of minimal dissipation of the original system.

Passivity-Based Control Strategy With Improved Robustness for Single-Phase Three-Level T-Type Rectifiers

open access: yes, 2021
A passivity-based control (PBC) strategy with improved robustness for single-phase three-level rectifiers feeding resistive and constant power loads (CPLs) is proposed.

Early‐life high‐fat diet exposure increases Achilles tendon stiffness and induces transcriptomic alterations

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Early‐life exposure to a high‐fat diet altered intact Achilles tendons in rat offspring, making them thinner, stiffer, and molecularly distinct even without injury. These findings suggest that developmental high‐fat diet exposure may impair tendon quality and increase susceptibility to mechanical overload or tendon injury later in life.

UiO‐66 metal–organic frameworks in biomedicine: From structural tunability to bioimaging, photodiagnostics, and photodynamic cancer therapy

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
UiO‐66(Zr) metal–organic frameworks are chemically stable, biocompatible, and highly tunable nanomaterials. Their modular structure enables controlled drug delivery, multimodal bioimaging, and light‐activated photodynamic therapy, supporting integrated diagnostic and therapeutic (theranostic) applications in cancer and biomedical research.

Passivity-Based Analysis and Design of Linear Voltage Controllers For Voltage-Source Converters

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of the Industrial Electronics Society, 2020
This article presents a systematic evaluation on the impedance passivity of voltage-controlled voltage-source converters. The commonly used single- and dual-loop control structures with different linear controllers are compared extensively, considering ...

Directed evolution of enzymes at the crossroads of tradition and innovation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
An iterative cycle of data‐driven enzyme optimization comprising four stages: genetic diversification of a template enzyme, expression of protein variants, high‐throughput evaluation, and machine‐learning‐guided redesign of the next variant library.

An Assertive Method as Help in Catechesis?

open access: yesThe Person and the Challenges, 2017
The problem of discipline, and motivation in the learning process, is ever more glaring in catechesis. The assertive approach attempts to, at least partially, solve this problem in modern education.

Network Representation and Passivity of Delayed Teleoperation Systems

open access: yes, 2011
The paper proposes a general network based analysis and design guidelines for teleoperation systems. The electrical domain is appealing because it enjoys proficient analysis and design tools and allows a one step higher abstraction element, the ...

From energy provision to protein synthesis: Tunnelling nanotubes as mediators of intercellular metabolic cooperation in cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The cytoskeleton‐mediated transport of mitochondria via tunnelling nanotubes restores respiration, increases ATP production, rescues cells from apoptosis, activates the AKT/mTOR signalling pathway, promotes cell migration and invasiveness, contributes to cancer progression and treatment resistance.
