Flexural waves at the edge of nonlocal elastic plate associated with the Pasternak foundation
Journal of Vibration and Control, 2022In this article, an elastic foundation is used to study the characteristics of flexural edge waves propagating on a piezoelectric structure. The nonlocal elasticity theory is introduced to investigate the microscale effect on edge wave propagation. The traditional Kirchhoff plate hypothesis is used to determine the kinematics of the piezoelectric plate.

Circular plates on Pasternak elastic foundations
International Journal for Numerical and Analytical Methods in Geomechanics, 1987AbstractThis study deals with the geometrically nonlinear axisymmetric static and transient response of cylindrically orthotropic thin circular plates resting on Pasternak elastic foundations subjected to uniformly distributed loads. Clamped and simply‐supported plates with radially movable and immovable edges have been considered.

Ultimate Carrying Capacity of Elastic-Plastic Plates on a Pasternak Foundation
Journal of Applied Mechanics, 2014In the present work, the problem of an infinite elastic perfectly plastic plate under axisymmetrical loading conditions resting on a bilateral Pasternak elastic foundation is considered. The plate is assumed thin, thus making it possible to neglect the shear deformation according to the classical Kirchhoff theory. Yielding is governed by the Johansen's

Summary: In this paper, the vibration characteristics of beams with arbitrarily and continuously varying thickness and resting on Pasternak elastic foundations were analytically studied based on the elasticity theory directly. The general expression of stress function, which exactly satisfies the governing differential equations and the boundary ...

Thermodynamical Bending of FGM Sandwich Plates Resting on Pasternak's Elastic Foundations
Advances in Applied Mathematics and Mechanics, 2015Summary: The analysis of thermoelastic deformations of a simply supported functionally graded material (FGM) sandwich plates subjected to a time harmonic sinusoidal temperature field on the top surface and varying through-the-thickness is illustrated in this paper.

Vibrations of an Euler-Bernoulli Nanobeam on a Winkler/Pasternak-Type Elastic Foundation
2018 IEEE 13th Annual International Conference on Nano/Micro Engineered and Molecular Systems (NEMS), 2018A non-local Euler-Bernoulli nanobeam theory is used to calculate free vibrations for a beam resting on a Winkler/Pasternak-type elastic foundation. On using Hamilton's Principle, the nonlinear equation of motion, which includes terms for stretching of the neutral axis, is derived. The Adomian modified decomposition method is applied to solve the fourth-

Clamped Plates on Pasternak-Type Elastic Foundation by the Boundary Element Method
Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1986A boundary element solution is developed for the analysis of thin elastic clamped plates of any shape resting on a Pasternak-type elastic foundation. The plate may have holes and it is subjected to concentrated loads, line loads, and distributed loads. The analysis is complete, i.e., deflections, stress resultants, subgrade reactions, and reactions on ...

Vibrational analysis of curved single-walled carbon nanotube on a Pasternak elastic foundation
Advances in Engineering Software, 2012Continuum mechanics and an elastic beam model were employed in the nonlinear force vibrational analysis of an embedded, curved, single-walled carbon nanotube. The analysis considered the effects of the curvature or waviness and midplane stretching of the nanotube on the nonlinear frequency.

Circular Elastic Plate Resting on Tensionless Pasternak Foundation
Journal of Engineering Mechanics, 2004In this technical note, a thin circular plate resting on a two-parameter (Pasternak-type) foundation is studied under concentrated central and distributed loads. The governing equations of the plate are derived for static loading case considering the lift off (uplift) of the plate from the foundation.
