Thermodynamical Bending of FGM Sandwich Plates Resting on Pasternak’s Elastic Foundations
Advances in Applied Mathematics and Mechanics, 2015AbstractThe analysis of thermoelastic deformations of a simply supported functionally graded material (FGM) sandwich plates subjected to a time harmonic sinusoidal temperature field on the top surface and varying through-the-thickness is illustrated in this paper. The FGM sandwich plates are assumed to be made of three layers and resting on Pasternak’s

Clamped Plates on Pasternak-Type Elastic Foundation by the Boundary Element Method
Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1986A boundary element solution is developed for the analysis of thin elastic clamped plates of any shape resting on a Pasternak-type elastic foundation. The plate may have holes and it is subjected to concentrated loads, line loads, and distributed loads. The analysis is complete, i.e., deflections, stress resultants, subgrade reactions, and reactions on ...

Vibrations of an Euler-Bernoulli Nanobeam on a Winkler/Pasternak-Type Elastic Foundation
2018 IEEE 13th Annual International Conference on Nano/Micro Engineered and Molecular Systems (NEMS), 2018A non-local Euler-Bernoulli nanobeam theory is used to calculate free vibrations for a beam resting on a Winkler/Pasternak-type elastic foundation. On using Hamilton's Principle, the nonlinear equation of motion, which includes terms for stretching of the neutral axis, is derived. The Adomian modified decomposition method is applied to solve the fourth-

Vibrational analysis of curved single-walled carbon nanotube on a Pasternak elastic foundation
Advances in Engineering Software, 2012Continuum mechanics and an elastic beam model were employed in the nonlinear force vibrational analysis of an embedded, curved, single-walled carbon nanotube. The analysis considered the effects of the curvature or waviness and midplane stretching of the nanotube on the nonlinear frequency.

Circular Elastic Plate Resting on Tensionless Pasternak Foundation
Journal of Engineering Mechanics, 2004In this technical note, a thin circular plate resting on a two-parameter (Pasternak-type) foundation is studied under concentrated central and distributed loads. The governing equations of the plate are derived for static loading case considering the lift off (uplift) of the plate from the foundation.

Abstract This study investigates the free vibrations of elastically constrained shear and Rayleigh beams placed on the Pasternak foundation. Of particular interest, it is aimed to analyze the influence of shear strain, rotational inertia, elastic stiffness, and shear layer on the natural frequencies and eigenmodes of beam vibrations. For

Large Deflection of a Rectangular Plate Resting on a Pasternak-Type Elastic Foundation
Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1977The problem of large deflection of a rectangular plate resting on a Pasternak-type foundation and subjected to a uniform lateral load has been investigated by utilizing the linearized equation of plates due to H. M. Berger. The solutions derived and based on the effect of the two base parameters have been carried to practical conclusions by presenting ...

Buckling analysis of magnetoelectroelastic plate resting on Pasternak elastic foundation
Mechanics Research Communications, 2014Abstract Buckling analysis of magnetoelectroelastic plate resting on Pasternak foundation is investigated based on the Mindlin theory. The in-plane electric and magnetic fields can be ignored for magnetoelectroelastic plates. According to Maxwell equation and magnetoelectric boundary condition, the variation of electric and magnetic potentials along ...
