Buckling of thin skew isotropic plate resting on Pasternak elastic foundation using extended Kantorovich method. [PDF]

open access: yesHeliyon, 2020
The extended Kantorovich method (EKM) is implemented to numerically solve the elastic buckling problem of thin skew (parallelogram) isotropic plate under in-plane loading resting on the Pasternak elastic foundation. EKM has never been applied to this problem before. Investigation of the EKM accuracy and convergence is conducted.

Sound-vibration behaviors of the thin orthotropic rectangular fluid–structure coupled system resting on varying elastic Winkler and Pasternak foundations

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2018
This paper establishes a thin orthotropic rectangular fluid–structure coupled system which effectively studies the sound-vibration behaviors. The established coupled system is made up of an acoustic enclosure filled with air or water and a single ...

Superposition principle for the tensionless contact of a beam resting on a winkler or a pasternak foundation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
A Green function-based approach is presented to address the nonlinear tensionless contactproblem for beams resting on either a Winkler or a Pasternak two-parameter elastic foundation.Unlike the traditional solution procedure, this approach allows ...

Quasi 3-D trigonometric plate theory for bending analysis of EG plates resting on Pasternak foundations

open access: yesCurved and Layered Structures, 2018
This paper deals with the bending analysis of exponentially graded material (EGM) plates resting on two-parameter elastic foundations according to a trigonometric shear deformation plate theory (TPT) using Navier’s technique.

Nonlinear Vibration of Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotubes with Initial Curvature Resting on Elastic Foundations in a Nonlinear Thermo-Magnetic Environment

open access: yesEngineering Transactions, 2021
The present work focuses on nonlinear dynamics models of multi-walled carbon nanotubes with initial curvature resting on Winkler-Pasternak elastic foundations in a nonlinear thermomagnetic environment using nonlocal elasticity theory. The derived systems

A new sinusoidal shear deformation theory for bending, buckling, and vibration of functionally graded plates [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
A new sinusoidal shear deformation theory is developed for bending, buckling, and vibration of functionally graded plates. The theory accounts for sinusoidal distribution of transverse shear stress, and satisfies the free transverse shear stress ...

Thermomechanical postbuckling of thick FGM plates resting on elastic foundations with tangential edge constraints

open access: yesVietnam Journal of Mechanics, 2016
This paper investigates the effects of tangential edge  constraints and elastic foundations on the buckling and postbuckling  behavior of thick FGM rectangular plates resting on elastic foundations and  subjected to thermal and thermomechanical loading ...

Comparative dynamic analysis of axially loaded beams on modified Vlasov foundation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Vibration analysis of the beams on elastic foundation has gained the great interest of many researchers. In the literature, there are many studies that focus on the free vibration analysis of the beams on one or two parameter elastic foundations.

Higher-Order Thermo-Elastic Analysis of FG-CNTRC Cylindrical Vessels Surrounded by a Pasternak Foundation [PDF]

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2019
This study analyses the two-dimensional thermo-elastic response of functionally graded carbon nanotube-reinforced composite (FG-CNTRC) cylindrical pressure vessels, by applying the third-order shear deformation theory (TSDT). The effective properties of FG-CNTRC cylindrical pressure vessels are computed for different patterns of reinforcement ...
