Size‐dependent vibration analysis of a FG viscoelastic nanotube attached with the time‐dependent boundary conditions using NLSGT

open access: yesZAMM - Journal of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics / Zeitschrift für Angewandte Mathematik und Mechanik, Volume 105, Issue 2, February 2025.
Abstract In this study, the torsional vibration of a functionally graded viscoelastic nanotube has been carried out under viscoelastic boundary conditions employing nonlocal strain gradient theory. First, the equation of motion of the problem has been established using Hamiltonian principles and the Kelvin–Voigt viscoelastic model.

Mechanical Behavior of Multiple Edge‐Cracked Nanobeams by Taking Into Account the Multiple Cracks Effects

open access: yesFatigue &Fracture of Engineering Materials &Structures, Volume 48, Issue 2, Page 684-697, February 2025.
ABSTRACT By exploiting the stress‐driven model, within the Euler–Bernoulli beam theory, a novel nonlocal analytical model is proposed in order to simulate the mechanical behavior of multiple edge–cracked nanobeams by taking into account the multiple cracks effects. According to the present model, the nanobeam is split in correspondence with each of the

Application of the R-Functions Method for Nonlinear Bending of Orthotropic Shallow Shells on an Elastic Foundation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Geometrically nonlinear behavior of orthotropic shallow shells subjected to the transverse load and resting on Winkler’s foundation is investigated. On base of the R-function theory and variational methods problem's solution for shells with complex ...

Towards Hemispheric Conversations in the Americas: Internal Colonialism and Efforts to Decolonise the Self in Abya Yala

open access: yesAntipode, Volume 57, Issue 1, Page 120-146, January 2025.
Abstract We bring the concept of internal colonialism—developed by Indigenous and racialised activist‐scholars in Abya Yala—into conversation with settler colonialism, white supremacy, white privilege, and Indigenous fleshed or embodied politics.

Surface waves in granular phononic crystals

open access: yes, 2015
The existence of surface elastic waves at a mechanically free surface of granular phononic crystals is studied. The granular phononic crystals are made of spherical particles distributed periodically on a simple cubic lattice.

Complex dynamics of circular cylindrical shells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Complex dynamics of circular cylindrical shells subjected to inertial axial loads are investigated. The shell is vertically mounted on a shaker, i.e. its base is clamped to the shaker fixture, which induces a vertical motion along the shell axis.

Enhanced Analytical Method for Evaluating the Existing Tunnel Response Caused by Tunneling Underlying

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
In order to figure out the response of existing tunnel induced by shield tunneling underneath, an enhanced analytical method for estimating the interaction between existing tunnels and surrounding soil is proposed. The Loganathan solution is employed to obtain the free displacement field of the surrounding soil induced by the shield tunneling ...
