Thermal posybuckling of rectangular plates on pasternak elastic foundations

Mechanics Research Communications, 1988
Thermal postbuckling of thin plates has not been studied extensively. Axisymmetric thermal postbuckling of circular plates and doubly-symmetric thermal postbuckling of square plates on Winkler foundations have been investigated by \textit{K. K. Raju} and \textit{G. V. Rao} [Comput. Struct.

Free vibrations of Timoshenko beam-columns on Pasternak foundations

Journal of Vibration and Control, 2012
In this paper the free vibration and the stability of axially loaded Timoshenko beams on elastic foundation are analyzed through the dynamic stiffness matrix method. The study is carried out considering a two–parameter elastic soil which contains the characteristics of both the Winkler and the Pasternak foundations.

Circular Elastic Plate Resting on Tensionless Pasternak Foundation

Journal of Engineering Mechanics, 2004
In this technical note, a thin circular plate resting on a two-parameter (Pasternak-type) foundation is studied under concentrated central and distributed loads. The governing equations of the plate are derived for static loading case considering the lift off (uplift) of the plate from the foundation.

Use of Pasternak Foundation Model in Concrete Pavement Analysis

Journal of Transportation Engineering, 1996
This paper examines the use of Pasternak foundation model in the analysis of load-induced concrete pavement deflections and bending stresses, as well as thermal stresses caused by warping of slabs. Using theoretical solutions developed by the authors for structural responses of slabs supported on Pasternak foundation, predicted slab deflections and ...

Thermodynamical Bending of FGM Sandwich Plates Resting on Pasternak’s Elastic Foundations

Advances in Applied Mathematics and Mechanics, 2015
AbstractThe analysis of thermoelastic deformations of a simply supported functionally graded material (FGM) sandwich plates subjected to a time harmonic sinusoidal temperature field on the top surface and varying through-the-thickness is illustrated in this paper. The FGM sandwich plates are assumed to be made of three layers and resting on Pasternak’s

Free vibrations of curved Timoshenko beams on Pasternak foundations

International Journal of Solids and Structures, 1990
Abstract A study of the natural vibration of a continuous Timoshenko curved beam on a Pasternak-type foundation is presented. The dynamic stiffness matrix of a curved member of constant section is derived. An example of a two-span curved beam is given to illustrate the application of the proposed method and to show the effects of flexural and ...

Three‐dimensional vibration analysis of rectangular thick plates on Pasternak foundation

International Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, 2004
AbstractThe free‐vibration characteristics of rectangular thick plates resting on elastic foundations have been studied, based on the three‐dimensional, linear and small strain elasticity theory. The foundation is described by the Pasternak (two‐parameter) model.

Shallow spherical shell on Pasternak foundation subjected to elevated temperature

Thin-Walled Structures, 1987
Abstract Nonlinear static behaviour of clamped shallow spherical shell at elevated temperature and resting on Pasternak type elastic foundation is examined, using Berger's approximation. Variation of non-dimensional central deflection with foundation parameters for a given thermal loading is investigated.

THE PASTERNAK FOUNDATION An Attractive Alternative for the Winkler Foundation

Proceedings of the International Conference on Concrete Pavements
In this paper the Pasternak Foundation model is described. In this two parameter model the reaction of the foundation is determined by a vertical spring constant k (the modulus of subgrade reaction in the Winkler Foundation) in combination with a parameter k0 which can be seen as a horizontal linkage of the vertical springs (comparable to the function ...
