The Pasterze glacier, Austria: an analogue of an extensional allochthon

Geological Society, London, Special Publications, 2000
Abstract Structures of the Pasterze glacier (Austria) have been studied in detail and interpreted as representing a natural model of an extensional allochthon formed on top of an orogenic wedge, and also a model for raft tectonics at passive continental margins.

Always delayed? Holocene and current evolution of Pasterze Glacier, Austria

2020
<p>The glaciers in the Alps are currently shrinking, in some cases dramatically, due to progressive warming. At some glaciers this recession has made it possible to find tree remains and other organic material at or near the termini.

Die Eisdynamik im Ablationsgebiet der Pasterze

2012

Glaciological Studies at Pasterze Glacier (Austria) Based on Aerial Photographs

2015
This chapter describes and analyses glacier recession observed at Pasterze Glacier, Hohe Tauern Range, Austria, for the time period 2003–2009. Pasterze Glacier is the largest glacier of the entire Eastern Alps, and it is highly indicative of ongoing glacier melt in the Alps.

Zum Sedimenthaushalt des Sanders im Gletschervorfeld der Pasterze

2010
In this study the sedimentbudget of a proglacial sandur is analyzed. Main topic of a sediment-budget-investigation is to identify sediment sources, storage types and geomorphic coupling and to quantify sediment transfer rates. Due to limited temporal resources, aim of this study is the quantification of the major mass wasting processes and the ...
