Pasteurella multocida endophthalmitis. [PDF]
We have recently seen an unusual case of endophthalmitis secondary to Pasteurella multocida infection. Unlike previously reported cases this patient had no previous history of animal bites or scratch wounds. Treatment included subconjunctival, parenteral, and intravitreal administration of ampicillin.

Mycoplasma pneumoniae pathogenesis relies on its CARDS toxin, which initiates cell binding and subsequent uptake by exploiting sphingomyelin, a key phospholipid found in the host plasma membrane. Maximal cellular entry and full cytotoxic effects are achieved through a synergistic mechanism that involves interaction with the protein coreceptor annexin ...

Plastid Engineering for Photosynthesis‐Driven Synthesis of Hyaluronic Acid in Tobacco
ABSTRACT Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a glycosaminoglycan composed of alternating units of N‐acetylglucosamine and glucuronic acid. High moisture retention, viscoelasticity and biocompatibility are unique features that make HA polymers attractive compounds for medical applications and aesthetic purposes.

Estrone‐α‐2DG, synthesized via a one‐pot multi‐enzyme system, selectively inhibits aromatase (IC50 = 0.101μM) and triple negative breast cancer cells (IC50 = 20.46 μM), offering a dual function therapeutic scaffold. ABSTRACT Aromatase inhibitors (AIs) are vital in the treatment of estrogen‐dependent breast cancer, especially in postmenopausal women. In

Pasteurella multocida Heddleston serovar 3 and 4 strains share a common lipopolysaccharide biosynthesis locus but display both inter- and intrastrain lipopolysaccharide heterogeneity [PDF]
Pasteurella multocida is a Gram-negative multispecies pathogen and the causative agent of fowl cholera, a serious disease of poultry which can present in both acute and chronic forms. The major outer membrane component lipopolysaccharide (LPS) is both an
