Osteomyelitis of the Heel with Pasteurella pneumotropica : A Case Report

Foot & Ankle, 1986
A rare case of Pasteurella pneumotropica occurring in a polymicrobial anaerobic osteomyelitis of the heel is presented. The natural history, predisposing conditions, treatment, and postoperative care are presented. Surgical excision of the infected portion of the calcaneus, appropriate antibiotics, and lift with proper supporting heel cup all aided in ...

Experimental investigation of uterine infections of mice due to Pasteurella pneumotropica

Journal of Comparative Pathology, 1972
Abstract In an attempt to elucidate the method of uterine infections in mice associated with Past. pneumotropica, approximately 180 BALB c mice were challenged with the organism by the intravenous, intranasal and intravaginal routes. Although all these techniques resulted in a proportion of mice with uterine infections, it is suggested that an

Protection against Pasteurella pneumotropica during infection with Angiostrongylus cantonensis

American Journal of Veterinary Research, 1983
SUMMARY Lung infections of specific-pathogen-free rats were studied to determine cross-immunity between infections with Pasteurella pneumotropica and Angiostrongylus cantonensis. Rats were found to have differences in mortality due to pneumonic infections with P pneumotropica and A cantonensis and to coinfections of P pneumotropica and A cantonensis ...

Comparative analysis of Pasteurella pneumotropica isolates from laboratory mice and rats

Antonie Van Leeuwenhoek, 2009
Selected biochemical and genetic characteristics of the wild-type strains of Pasteurella pneumotropica isolated from mice and rats were investigated and compared in order to determine the significant differences among the isolates. The isolates were divided into six groups on the basis of the patterns of carbon source utilization in the host rodents ...

Pasteurella pneumotropica in rabbits from a "Pasteurella-free" production colony.

Laboratory animal science, 1984
Pasteurella pneumotropica was isolated from the nasopharyngeal area of two of five rabbits obtained from a "Pasteurella-free" production colony. No evidence of disease was observed in these rabbits during clinical and necropsy examinations.

Effect of Sequential Inoculations of Sendai Virus and Pasteurella pneumotropica in Mice

Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association, 1974
SUMMARY Albino mice were inoculated (via aerosol) with Sendai virus, followed at 1-, 3-, 6-, 9-, and 12-day intervals by inoculation (via aerosol) with Pasteurella pneumotropica. Pulmonary bactericidal activity was suppressed in mice inoculated with the virus, with maximal suppression occurring approximately 6 days after viral inoculation.
