Modulation of Eddy Kinetic Energy by Seasonal Extension of the Eastern Weddell Gyre
Abstract Active eddies in the eastern Weddell Gyre (WG) facilitate water mass exchange between the WG and warmer Antarctic Circumpolar Current, driving warm inflow into the WG. Using observations and data‐assimilating model output, the impact of seasonal extension of the eastern WG on the local eddy kinetic energy (EKE) field was investigated.

Parerga to the Stadiasmus Patarensis (6): Route 54 (Patara – Phellos) and new inscriptions
In the field survey of the Stadiasmus Patarensis (SP) in 2009, the route between Patara and Phellos was investigated. The distance between Patara and Phellos in the SP was restored as 240 stadia (45–46 km) by the editors.

Southern Ocean Heat Burp in a Cooling World
Abstract The ocean accumulates carbon and heat under anthropogenic CO2 emissions and global warming. In net‐negative emission scenarios, where more CO2 is extracted from the atmosphere than emitted, we expect global cooling. Little is known about how the ocean will release heat and carbon under such a scenario.

Quantification of Antarctic Bottom Water Pathways in the Australian‐Antarctic Basin
Abstract Antarctic Bottom Water (AABW) formation drives the lower limb of the meridional overturning circulation, influencing the Earth's climate, carbon cycle, and marine biological productivity. Recent findings suggest that AABW across the Southern Ocean is changing, including freshening, warming and thinning.

Weakened Eddy Activities in the South Pacific Subtropical Countercurrents Under Global Warming
Abstract The subtropical countercurrent (STCC), located near the South Pacific boundary, exhibits a band of high eddy activities. These eddies have significant implications on the exchanges of heat, salt, volume, and biogeochemical properties. Yet their response to greenhouse warming change remains unknown.
