Emic–Etic Perspectives on Southeast Asian Cultural Attitudes Surrounding Human Remains
ABSTRACT Community ethics and cultural attitudes vary across contexts in which professionals work with human remains. Southeast Asia is home to millions; thus, there are challenges when attempting to understand and articulate the diversity in cultures, ideologies, and ethics surrounding the dead.

Abstract Thermal and biogeochemical states of the North Atlantic Ocean are affected on seasonal to decadal timescales by atmospheric forcing associated with the North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO). An NAO–based composite approach is applied to an Earth system model to reveal the fast and slow responses of the ocean to atmospheric impulse forcing. Over the

Addressing unsustainability with the mindset that caused it
Despite eurocentrism being the dominant global mindset and the rich body of scholarship dedicated to it, there are limited studies exploring sustainability through this lens, from which much of the unsustainability stems from.

Abstract Southern Ocean eddies showcase complexity from both Eulerian and Lagrangian viewpoints, with the latter being more intricate largely due to the advection of the Antarctic Circumpolar Current (ACC). Through investigating the altimeter‐identified characteristics of the mesoscale eddy kinematic properties within the ACC axis, this study indicates

Parerga to the Stadiasmus Patarensis (6): Route 54 (Patara – Phellos) and new inscriptions
In the field survey of the Stadiasmus Patarensis (SP) in 2009, the route between Patara and Phellos was investigated. The distance between Patara and Phellos in the SP was restored as 240 stadia (45–46 km) by the editors.

Modulation of Eddy Kinetic Energy by Seasonal Extension of the Eastern Weddell Gyre
Abstract Active eddies in the eastern Weddell Gyre (WG) facilitate water mass exchange between the WG and warmer Antarctic Circumpolar Current, driving warm inflow into the WG. Using observations and data‐assimilating model output, the impact of seasonal extension of the eastern WG on the local eddy kinetic energy (EKE) field was investigated.

Detection and tracking of carbon biomes via integrated machine learning [PDF]
In the framework of a changing climate, it is useful to devise methods capable of effectively assessing and monitoring the changing landscape of air–sea CO2 fluxes.

Southern Ocean Heat Burp in a Cooling World
Abstract The ocean accumulates carbon and heat under anthropogenic CO2 emissions and global warming. In net‐negative emission scenarios, where more CO2 is extracted from the atmosphere than emitted, we expect global cooling. Little is known about how the ocean will release heat and carbon under such a scenario.

Quantification of Antarctic Bottom Water Pathways in the Australian‐Antarctic Basin
Abstract Antarctic Bottom Water (AABW) formation drives the lower limb of the meridional overturning circulation, influencing the Earth's climate, carbon cycle, and marine biological productivity. Recent findings suggest that AABW across the Southern Ocean is changing, including freshening, warming and thinning.
