Characterizing the salivary RNA landscape to identify potential diagnostic, prognostic, and follow‐up biomarkers for breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.

On an age structured population model with density-dependent dispersals between two patches

open access: yesMathematical Biosciences and Engineering, 2019
Motivated by an age-structured population model over two patches that assumes constant dispersal rates, we derive a modified model that allows density-dependent dispersal, which contains both nonlinear dispersal terms and delayed non-local birth terms ...

Regularity of the velocity field for Euler vortex patch evolution

open access: yes, 2015
We consider the vortex patch problem for both the 2-D and 3-D incompressible Euler equations. In 2-D, we prove that for vortex patches with $H^{k-0.5}$ Sobolev-class contour regularity, $k \ge 4$, the velocity field on both sides of the vortex patch ...

Can one hear the shape of a saturation patch?

open access: yes, 2002
The theory of the acoustics of patchy-saturation in porous media is used to analyze experimental data on wave velocity and attenuation in partially water saturated limestones. It is demonstrated that the theory can be used to deduce the value of V/A, the

Adenosine‐to‐inosine editing of miR‐200b‐3p is associated with the progression of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A‐to‐I editing of miRNAs, particularly miR‐200b‐3p, contributes to HGSOC progression by enhancing cancer cell proliferation, migration and 3D growth. The edited form is linked to poorer patient survival and the identification of novel molecular targets.

Ion temperatures in HIP-1 and SUMMA from charge-exchange neutral optical emission spectra [PDF]

open access: yes
Ion temperatures were obtained from observations of the H sub alpha, D sub alpha, and He 587.6 nm lines emitted from hydrogen, deuterium, and helium plasmas in the SUMMA and HIP-1 mirror devices at Lewis Research Center.

Investigating the cell of origin and novel molecular targets in Merkel cell carcinoma: a historic misnomer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study indicates that Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) does not originate from Merkel cells, and identifies gene, protein & cellular expression of immune‐linked and neuroendocrine markers in primary and metastatic Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) tumor samples, linked to Merkel cell polyomavirus (MCPyV) status, with enrichment of B‐cell and other immune cell

Design of microstrip patch antenna for IEEE 802.16-2004 applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
This thesis presents microstrip patch antenna IEEE 802.16-2004 standards for microwave applications and WiMax. Narrow bandwidth (BW) is the main defect of microstrip patch antenna in wireless communication.
